I brought my CX-5 one year ago. I already knew all the bugs and failures of the infotaiment system.
- USB/iPod start delay, first song problem and frecuent crashes
- Bluetooth start delay
I wasn't expecting other features of the system working without problems also.
Bur, one year later, I couldn't be more happier with the car.
- My older long-time vehicle, a Mitsubishi Lancer, doesn't even had a USB port, so, my interaction with this device were the AUX port for more than 4 years. So, it was no really a problem still using this way to listen if I required.*
- The Bluetooth start problem: I live in appartment building and I have my parking slot in the -1 level. So, go out with the car to the street takes one minute app. When I cross the building gate, Bluetooth finally starts working. I think I can really live with that, seriously. Cellphones doesn't have signal at that floor level anyway.
But, in the end(*), Spotify was launched in Chile one week before I brought the car. It changed everything.
Now I mostly use that service, and when I want to listen to something that is not available there: I just use the iPhone, also with Blueototh.
I even still got the iPod Classic with the AUX port.
I also have one CD with kids songs for my daughter, just in case. And I use the AUX with my kid's iPad when she wants to see movies in the back seat. It sounds really well.
In some cases even, when I want to listen to music in high quality, I burn some FLAC files into a CDs. And also I listen to the FM radio for news and others.
Resuming: For music, just use Bluetooth. It's more practical, it works well, Siri works pretty good, Spotify works like a charm, the own Music App on my iPhone works well too, and the other very good things in this car simply makes the USB problem a "little detail".
