LOL My husband made that remark last night. He thinks it is funny...I don't shift until I can here the CAI.

I LOVE the MS CAI. It is ssoo nice. And you can not beat that sound. I have been turning heads all day yesterday. What a wise investment.

Remarks like these make wish I had mine on right now.... Which won't be till next weekend for me.. I can't wait... Keep the feedback coming!!

ugh now waiting this extra week is really gonna kill me!!!!

LOL Sorry.

I don't mean to waste gas but not it is hard to shift at "normal" RPMs. :) Oh I ssooo want a BOV now too.

I'm very much interested in getting the CAI, but Fairfax Mazda quoted me 4 hours of labor at $95/ hour. 4 hours! Does it really take that long or are they trying to rip me off? That's over $700 for a CAI! Interestingly, Rosenthal quoted me $200~ 250 (2 hours).

I wonder if I should just throw an install party for the knowledgeable folks of this forum living nearby. (covering food, drinks and entertainment *^_^* )

Yes. The MEC folks are great, and will be more than able to help you install the CAI.

Keke~ Maryland and NJ has some of the worst tolls in the nation. Gas + toll = $$. I appreciate the offer though. *^_^*

I wonder if Racergirl got her BOV yet.

I installed mine with the help of one friend in 65 minutes. I did all the ground work. Jacking, wheel removal, fender lining loosening, while he removed the air box. Then the intake went in... no bumper removal, no lower splash guard removal, no fender liner removal. It was easy as pie.

If you were in NH, I'd do it for you today, but you're in VA. :D

How do you like your Fujita CAI? I'm a bit torn among the brands. -_-a

I love it. The installation was a lot easier than the directions said (requiring removal of front bumper and fender liner). I don't need to worry about people asking me anymore whether my car is turbo, because even under normal driving, you can gear the BPV opening just a touch.

That's awesome. This is my first turbo car, and I've been wondering whether I would need a BOV + cai. It's all new to me, but from reading up on this forum, it sounds like installing a BOV has numerous negative side effects.

How much ground clearance does your CAI have? (where the filter is) I have to drive through puddles sometimes, and I'm a little paranoid. >_<

If you turn your wheels to the right, and look in front of the drivers front tire, there are little slits in the fender liner. If you look carefully, you can see the filter in there. I'm guessing that if you were to drive throught water, you would need a good 10-12" of water before the filter were fully submerged.

I refuse to drive throught flood water, but if you had to, you could detatch the intake from the inlet tube, right by the battery box, go throught the water and then re-attatch the intake. I'd reccomend against this though, because you're going to be bypassing the MAF and also you'll be feeding the engine unfiltered air, although as long as you're driving very slowly, you should be ok.

That's like a foot of water! I guess there is no need to be paranoid about small puddles. Thanks a lot for the information. You're much appreciated. *^_^*
