Got rear-ended today

Well here's the pics. I went and got some estimates and the shop I'm gonn go too quoted me $2100+ "hidden damage likely", "Additional Costs Possibe", and "Additional Rear Body damage probable". Not including the bent muffler (already ordered Ractive Axle-back :D).
That's also to fix the part of the roof that "buckled" from the impact. He also said he'd be willing to bet they'll find more damage when they pull the bumper off. One thing's for sure, the ****** that hit me will be paying more for insurance from now on. :D

I know I don't have a P5 but I got rear ended today too. Not real bad but I need a new bottom lip and have to get a new exhaust or at least muffler b.c its a little bent. I got hit by a 90 civic dx hatchback and some kid who was trying to get me to race. He didn't notice that I had stopped b.c the car in front of me stopped to let someone turn left. I have had my car for just over a week and its already been hit :(

2100???? bull s*** but if thats what they gave u as a quote buy the bumper ur self and i can say that u will have extra money out of this i have done it and have seen others do it also!!!!

are you sure he was going 30? doesn't look like it.
I'd say more like 10-15 by the time he hit you.

oh and welcome to the rear-end club.

I got hit by someone going 25-35 and so far its over 9k.
we just found today the master brake cylinder is bad too.
its been 38 days and counting in the body shop.

enjoy the drugs. use ice. goto the doc and get the stretching
excercises. They do help a little. see a physical therapist if its
bad. good luck.

Yes I'm sure he was doin 30 when he hit me. If you saw his truck you would agree.

Anyway, the first 7 vertabrae are your Cervical Vertabrae. The $2100 is for ALOT more than just a new bumper cover. That's to fix the dent in the roof and side, re-clearcoat them, new bumper cover, strip, re-prime, and re-paint rear body panel.

As for taking the money and doing it myself, I have not the equipment or the skills to do all thay they are gonna do.

The Vertebrae
Cervical - first 7
The first is named the Atlas
The second is named the Axis - all others named by number, 3-7

hehe they aren't doubting what the cervical is, but it is not the cervix. shortening the word like that makes it into another body part.

Sorry to hear about that, always have a fear of being hit from behind.
And small damage to the eye can cost alot which is one more reason to have insurance and ALWAYS get the information even if it looks small.

make sure everything is ok with you dude...i got rear ended last year and it didn't even hurt right after the accident...ended up that i have a herniated disc in my lower back which will never get better...never...i have to be on muscle relaxers for the rest of my life so that it doesn't tighten up...plus that same vertabrae is leaking fluid and drying up so its just going to get worse...i have another strained vertabrae right next to it and 2 of them in my neck...needless to say im 24 and can't do hardly anything involving much lifting, twisting or moving...make sure you are ok, i would get an mri if i was you...that stuff doesn't show up well on xrays...

Yeah, when I get back home I'll post everything included in the estimate, it was quite a bit. It was only $203 for parts, the rest was 30 some odd hours labor and paint. :D

Sorry to hear about your mishap...get plenty of rest and definitely follow the doctor's orders. I can't imagine the someone wouldn't see you stopped with that HUGE friggin' thrid brake light at idiot eye-level.

And people wonder why I don't like to ride my mountain bike on the pavement!

Yeah, the guy's second excuse was he didn't see my brake lights on. I guess his cataracts were too ******* think to see through then....

Ha brake lights not being visable is a pretty lame excuse. Oh I'm sorry sir couldn't you tell the distance was closing up!!! Duh!

I too was rear-ended a couple of months ago...$800.00 CAD. I would bring people out to my car and say "Can you spot the damage?" and they couldn't. Just looked like my tail pipe was bent downwards. Body shops are rip-off artists. Anyway, in your case ( if it were here) you could sue for physical damages. I know someone at my workplace got rear ended and I believe he's suing for $25,000. He has a sore neck! He was the passenger and the driver was fine! I think we, in BC, are sue-happy when it comes to car accidents. It's worth a try!
