Got them in today. Having them put in either Thursday or Saturday. Let you all know how they turn out.

Sweet. I want these so bad. Let us know about noticable gains and such as well as install problems.
Cheers,
moose

I'm having the Mazda dealer install them for me. I don't really have the time this week due to being a manager short at work and all. But I'll let you all know about the gains.

Will the dealer install the manifold without the VCTS? That would eliminate a cleaner emmisions part. Anyway, do the work yourself. It will save a lot of $$ and you will get to know the car very well. There have been some very good write ups on how to install both. Start on Fri. after work and before dinner on Sun you will be done!:D
Anyway, let us know how it works out. I really love the way the car drives after the cams. Enjoy:)

hey pure
how do you like the cams?
any problems with idle?do you plan to go turbo?

and sorry for all the questions but, how did you port the MAF?

I really didn't port it all that much. I just smoothed out all the restriction. The weekend that I started, I just wanted to touch everything in the stream. I did just enough not to affect any readings.
I love the cams. I did the manifold and the throttle body at the same time, so I can't say which was the most beneficial, but all together, it is a great car to drive now. I can actually pass people once in a while.:D
I haven't decided FI or NA yet. I get bored with cars easily, so I might get a wild hair up my ass next week and sell it. Right now I can't afford the turbo, so I am concentrating on things I can afford. That isn't much either because I am trying to get my shop off the ground.:(

I did it by hand with some 180 grit sand paper.
I am trying to get a tuner shop off the ground. I will be moving to ATl in a few months where I will actually open for business. For now, I am trying to get a website up, get inventory, set up wholesale accounts, etc, etc, etc.

I can't do the work. If I had a nice 9-5 job with weekend off it would be no problem, But having to work 3rd shift 3 days and 2nd shift 2 days a week it kinda eliminates doing it myself. Especially with the waether like it is. Anyway the dealer is only charging me $150 to do it.

The dealer couldn't get me in untill Wed, so it looks like I'll have to wait awhile.

$150 for cams and manifold? That is a pretty good price considering the dealership usually charges like $50 an hour. They usually get like for or five hours just for a timing belt. Anyway, let us know how it goes.
By the way, make sure you break your cams in for at least 500 miles. That way all the seats can set. Then let it rip!!!:D

I didn't get a minifold. Yeah $150 is great. The dealer always hooks me up. He also quoted me $1500 for Mazdaspeed Springs, struts, and sway bars, installed. I wish to god I had the money for that...:D I'm halfway considering taking out a small loan so I don't have to pass up that good a deal.

Aftern many delays they are finally in the car. I have not reset the ECU yet but pelimnary butt-dyno results say it definately pulls harder after 4500rpm. After I reset the ECU I'll let everyone know my final results.

We felt a noticable gain on Sean's MP3. It was real nice. Pulled nicely past redline. Then shut down at 7500 lol.
