got a MSP 5 days ago.

Nice, I got mine from a dealership...paid to much but my volvo had a fuel leak and leaked water sooo yea. As said enjoy but beware of crappy fuel maps, might find a hesitation at about 3500-4000rpms but it seems normal for any MSP without the air fuel calibrator(aftermarket).

also in 2nd gear at around 4000 RPMs i seem to hit a wall. i get hard pull up til there. think it might have something to do with the bad plugs? i just replaced them 5 min ago. or maybe its just the flat torque curve that turbo's are known to have.

cool thanks guys. i am currently getting bad mileage. i filled up last thursday(the day i got it) and have gone about 200-210 miles and almost down to a quarter of a tank, not beating on it, i get into fith whenever i can. it does however need an alianment and some new spark plugs. anyone know what the best plugs are for our cars?
also the o2 sensor int the exhuast mani was bad, so i replaced it. how long before that steps in to give me better mileage. i don't get the check engine light either.

That sounds about right if your doing alot of city driving, but horable for interstate. My car has just a few mods, but I usually get about 400-430 miles out of a tank of gas when driving alot of highway. I'm usually around the 200mile mark +/- around half a tank. U should have a gas light come on when u have about 1/8th of a tank left. I pushed it a couple of times when I was low on cash and got about 40-50 miles after the light came on. I was really gentle on the gas, but I'll never treat herr like that again. Starvation is sad especially when it comes to driving a car.

Also, on top of getting some nice plugs (Iridium plugs work great) seeing that your car is that dirty the air filter is probably horable too. I don't know what kind of aftermarket intake u have it, but I'm guessing the bad gas milage and the higher RPM pulls can also be caused by a clogged air filter. In your case I'm guess that the turbo is sucking air through a straw.

Welcome. Great price on your MSP. I was a regular on G20.net also as my first car was a 96 G20 (P10). I didn't go the MSP route but I did get a P5 and while its probably about a dead heat speed wise, the handling is much better and much more connected. And the P10 had good handling for what it was. Congrats.

cool donas64. oh and i changed the plugs to NGK copper core and on the same amount of gas i am getting about 300 miles which is about 28 mpg, and thats pretty much all city!! what sucks is after i fixed my boost leak i got this huge crack down the center of my exhaust mani, meaning a hole s*** load of power gone:(. and i don't see how i can take out the smic without leaving one side of the radiator supportless.

wow. Seems like you have some fixing to do. But I think it will all be worth it. The MSP seems to be a demanding vehicle to maintain, but most forum members think it's worth it. I'm fond of them myself.
