Good-Win Urethane motor mount illegal in ST?!?

70

Anything harder will rattle your teeth out. As an example, I have 70 in my K-swapped CRX track car (Hasport mounts) and that vibrates quite a bit already. And the AWR mounts don't have a ton of bushing material, so there's little room for compliance.

Ordered.

Thanks so much

Andres

Finally got around to doing some measuring and installing the AWR mount.

In short, it is legal. Not even close. Plenty of metal.

Read the note here to see the pics and calcs.

To the OP...I'd respectfully ask you to update your original post and maybe even the thread title. You've gotten a lot of folks wound up for no reason. Thanks.

You're amazing

Andres

Not so much. Just have to cover my bases when it comes to legality stuff. Too much of a target on my back. Don't need the hassle of somebody throwing paper at a big event because they "read on the internet" that the motor mount I was using wasn't legal. Measure now or measure under duress. Easier to do it now.

Trial by fire eyeballs. Andy isnt kidding when he says he's got a target on his back. When it comes to national competition you will get dq'd for the stupidest things, especially if you are winning people will be all over anything they can find to get you out. Honestly I love autocrossing but that kind of drama from people drives me up a wall. A Friend of mine told me he had a small square (just a couple inches) of carpet padding under the carpet cut out because it had rotted and got dq'd from an event.

Wow, that carpet thing would piss me off. Its surprising how far people are willing to go for a "win" and a small contigency prize. Its still not winning if another driver was faster in a car that has no significant advantages. Definately takes the fun out of competing. Makes me happy to have only ever been competitive on a regional level. I've done a couple tour events but didn't come in anywhere near the top.

Edited as requested. My apologies for lateness of the edits - I am no longer on this board as often. Thank you for your proper calculations, however, as you can tell from appearances of the two mounts, my concern was valid (ie. wasn't trying to get people wound up, just trying to prevent anyone from buying an item that might not be applicable to their class. Thank you for your proper information).
