2003 msp maybe...
[SUP]alright so I'm in search of a car, and come across this 2003 msp, seems like a decent deal to me but was hoping to get advice from you guys who have been following these cars since they were new. Any help and advice is appreciated. http://mobile.dealercarsearch.com/V...395&Guid=8462a57e-1071-4fd2-8bd8-6142f008e870 hope the link is ok, if not let me know and ill post it different. I spoke to the dealer, said he would take 5700 out the door. Sorry, missed the post up top for potential buyers to ask questions[/SUP]

The body looks very clean, remove that god awful grille and headlights and put a new steering wheel in it and it looks like a good start if it's a clean, rust free southern car. $5700 is high, typical for a dealer but the car is worth about $4-5 private party. I certainly wouldn't pay more than $5k for it, if it were in really good shape.

Yea I would make a few changes to it defiantly. I offered him 5k cash, said he needed 5700, that's car, fees, and all that. I'm really on the fence about it...

Id see if you could get it cheaper of find one cheaper....cash is golden. I bought mine for $3000, granted i did blow the engine 3 months later, but it already was having problems before i bought it. Since then i did get the engine replaced and everything. Id definitely get a compression check on it if you do decide to by it you that you know what youre dealing with. These engines are really touchy especially if you romp on it (which you probably will). But other than that, these cars are tons of fun to drive and handle really well. Id just have $1000 backup fund in case something brakes.

Yea that's where Im at on my current car.... tear down and rebuild of engine, don't really wanna be doing that on two cars at the same time. Just lookin for a fun little dd. Thanks for the advice, I'll be back with follow up if I get it.

You won't blow it up if it is in good shape and has been properly maintained. I beat on my stock block MSP every day and it hasn't let me down with 164k miles, even on 10lbs the past 80k.
