Good Deal or Not?

I just bought an '04 Mazda 3s monday night to be exact and I am just curious if I got a good deal or just what everyone else is getting and being fooled into thinking it was an awesome deal. It is the 3s with a 5speed and the bottom line price ended up at 15500., which according to KBB and the dealership is 575 under invoice. The sticker was 17105. and invoice supposedly is 16025. Anyhow its my first brand new car so I hope it turns out to be a good one. Btw the only option on it is the wheel locks which isnt even worth mentioning.

Anytime you buy under invoice, it's a good deal. I paid 3% over invoice back in February, and at that time it was a good deal.

I payed invoice price on my 3 back in November of 03 and got free extended warranty, I know it's a good deal at that time

good for you, Mikey444. i saw a lot of postings where people mentioned the "invoice price". how did you find out what the invoice price is? i guess the dealership won't tell you that because it will cut into his profit margin, right? [i'm lost... ] (^_^)???

I searched for the invoice on mazdas web site, kelly blue book, and edmunds and they all came within a few dollars of eachother. Granted they are not going to tell you the true invoice because that would put too much information into the consumers hands.

armyguy, i'd say you got a pretty good deal.

just hope they didn't jack you on financing, did you use Mazda or a bank to finance?

I used bank of america for my financing. I got it at 5.25% which is decent considering I am only 21 and signed by my self.

I think you got a great deal. I got mine for about 240 under invoice which I thought was really good, and you beat that. One thing I loved about my deal is there was no sales tax.

3s comes with so much standard. In retrospect if I did it again I'd maybe pass on some of the options I got on this one except the side air bags pckg (and if I'd gotten a 4dr maybe sport package too).

What color did you get?

I got the 4dr sedan in strato blue. The only thing I don't like is that it has a purplish tint to it in the sun because of how dark it is but its all good. It was the only base 3s either one of the dealerships had here so I really can't complain. Plus the yellow on the 3 isn't bright enough in my opinion. And black is a hard color to keep clean but so is dark blue so I guess it wouldnt have been much different.

maybe someone who works at a dealership can tell if the invoice prices are accurate?
