Going to AMR to get a Stage One Tune

I Finally was able to tune my car after solveing the issue with cobb

Ok well sorry i have not been in the forum for so long i been work and teaching and didn't have time to write. however i finally did and after waiting for Cobb to fix the new ap that did not want to communicate with the car i went with the tune and got really good result with just an intake and tuboxs hybrid bov/bpv and a magnaflow exhaust i got 278.8 whp and around 300-305 torque and with 16 psi am really happy with the result i would recommend AMR to anyone rob was great he answer all my question and told me the status of the new ap that was not functional he did a great job. At the moment i can not post the chart because am in my lunch break test so i wanted to tell everyone about my tune they should be up soon.

hey...... do my trims look ok???????????(toetap)

Sigh.....fuel trims...do you know what those are???? Where's your boost and afr curve??? Wait a couple hundred miles until you get a cel and then come talk to me, if the motor lasts that long. How does it feel to put down 13whp more and 45wtq LESS than someone that has just an intake?? Not much of a gain now is it? Not ur fault, just a bad tune but I tried my best to warn you

Dude, you need to relax a little. Sure, you and someone else you know perhaps had a bad tune, but that does not mean that every tune to come out of that shop will be bad. Hasty generalization on your behalf. Let the OP drive the car around and see what happens. You never know, maybe his car will be fine; they don't make them all the same you know. Also take into consideration that the tuner is perhaps a little more knowledgeable with our car after dealing (or trying to deal) with your problems.
I am sorry that you had problems with this place, and I am not trying to be a dick, but the past is the past. OP already got the tune done regardless of your forwarning, so if anything happens at least you can say "I told you so".

O im fine, just a shame the op wasted his money. But the fact still remains that AMR did not stand behind their work. If your uncomfortable doing a job and are a noob with a platform(everyone is at some point) you should tell the customer and allow for tweaks if there are any bugs down the road. Not demand more money because you screwed up in the first place. I ****** up, sorry, pay me again and ill fix it......basic business practices and ethics. non existant with AMR.

do a quick google of Autmaster AMR experience and you'll see what Im talking about. The guy is shady not only with tuning, but building as well...from a Subie forum (which he claims to be a god for). You find many of these threads all over the place. He overcharges for everything.

I do wish the OP the best of luck

Sorry that i posted the wrong trim If you want i think this is it

<a href="http://s846.photobucket.com/albums/ab24/mclovinspeed3/?action=view&current=phototrim.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab24/mclovinspeed3/phototrim.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

mclovin, im seriously going to try and help you out.

1. that afr curve is terrible. you are running way rich towards the end, bouncing around all over the place. A tail pipe sniffer, which i believe he uses IIRC reads .5-1 point higher than actual. so your afr's fall into the 9s. your cats will quickly become clogged on this tune, as mine did

2. He didnt give you a boost curve. The higher line is your HP. Im willing to bet youve got some boost issues and he's hiding it. Ask for your boost curves. I requested mine for several months and never got them. it was only when i went to a dyno day that i realized my problem. massive boost spike and creep. chances are your in the same boat.

Both boost and AFR curves should reach a certain point and stay there. Please see my revised tune. Note that the AFR drops to 12 and stays there, while my boost climbs to 18psi and holds never deviating more than 1/2 a point. My initial boost target is 14psi, when it overboosts (spikes) the overboost situation is close to 18psi, and then my new boost target is 18psi. Tuning the boost in this manner prevents boost spikes and saves your engine from unneccessary stress. This is the way your curves should look. I would go back and demand a retune. The stock curves on the ecu will look similar to mine, just not as high boost, a minor boost spike and slightly richer AFR's.

This is the difference between a good tune and a bad one.

I hope this helps. I am not stroking my ego, just trying to help you out. I lost 500 bucks having this guy tune my car horribly.

The trims I am talking about are fuel trims. I am assuming you have an AP. When driving around monitor your Long Term Fuel Trims (LTFT) These values should be as close to 0 as possible. I was over 20, which resulted in CEL's since he did not scale my mass airflow sensor (MAF) which is the first thing a tuner should do....

I fully agree.

On a side note with just my AP tune my AFR's tend to stay consistantly around the 12's at WOT.
