Going Price for an MP3? + Which to get?

no, they actually had to DT it in for him...it's not like it was sitting on their lot and they REALLY needed to sell it...nor was it a demo...so no, it wasn't an exception.

Huh?
I am saying he got a very good deal. More than most of the others sold went for more than 15k.

sure, when they came out...but as '04 was rolling along...dealers needed to get rid of them.

DT = dealer transfer (trade)

Yes I know DT, I am just saying it's not like most people got them for 15k

I've never heard of a new MSP selling for 15k when they were introduced, so someone got one hell of a steal.

So I've been looking at a few different cars including The MSP and MP3. And I'm starting to come to the conclusion that the MP3+Turbo may be a better option than MSP (money wise). And about as reliable, I mean the mp3 hasn't been boosted until some one comes along, so I wouldn't have to worry about mods AS much or lack of a turbo timer, shaft play on the turbo, or the LSD. Both cars are nearly identical too!

Where are you located at?

I'll throw in my 2 cents. I owned a 00 ES and had done some mods. I purchased it originally because it was a good deal. I loved the car stock, it just needed to be personalized and have more power. I ended up selling it because I loved the looks of the MP3/MSP. I kept my eye open for over a year and ended up buying an MP3. Biggest reason was turbo. I'm not positive I want to turbo it and so I decided to save the money up front, and can always go FI in the future. Also, I now own one of only 1000 blue ones built (in the US anyway. I think Canada had 250 yellow and 500 blue).

Another thing is that you don't have to pay extra insurance w/ the MP3 because it's not boosted. I know a lot of insurance companies jack the price up for the turboed cars.

Oh yeah. I bought mine in AZ for $8100 with 56k miles last month. Rims are curbed, subwoofer gone and some damage to rear bumper lip. Other than that the body panels, hood, roof, trunk, interior, engine etc. are practically flawless.

I found an MP3 with 41,107 miles, the asking price is $10,990. From the pictures I've seems its fairly good condition. But it does have a couple of long scratches on the back bumper. What should I offer?

How are the tires, brakes? Is the subwoofer there. Lots of ppl take it out. The sub might not matter to you, but they don't need to know that. I paid just shy of $8900 out the door (after taxes and stuff) w/ 56k and a little more damage to rear bumper, plus the rims are pretty torn up. I'd offer $8900 and go from there. They prob. got they're price from KBB, which is a joke, cause NADA calls for 8600-8900 retail. Also bring up the eyelids on the headlights, I don't know how easy they remove, but they might leave a film and damage the housing.

Hopefully the floor mats are in the trunk, cause those also say MP3 on them and are expensive to replace ($65 + ship)

Good eye! I'll mention that too!
Here's a pick form the other side. Is that trim under the lip & bumper suppose to be there? I'm going to try for $8,000 and then put some cash down. Anyone else?

I bought mine in July 2005 for 10k at 59k miles after transfer of plates and all that s***. I'm now selling it for 7500 because I have put on 30k miles and there is 2 small scuffs on the front and rear bumper.

I accidentally deleted this from my other post, but there's also a small red light/button on the left side of the steering wheel. Might want to ask about that. Could be conected to car alarm/anti-theft. It's definately after market. Tires look good though tread wise.

Looks like something is hanging down under the passenger side fog light too.

That front plastic lip under the front bumber is very handy for protection. Mine's got a few pieces broken off, but the front bumper is fine.

Damn it! someone beat me to it! Sold! I found another one today. I can't look at it till friday though but I'll call in and ask what they want for it. The one I found today has 65k miles on it.

With 65K definately look at the brake pads. If they haven't been replaced, they'll most likely need it very soon. Because of the salt used back east too, I'd really make sure and look at the underbody, cv joint boots, lower rad hose etc., plus stuff earlier mentioned. Good luck. Like I said, I watched and waited for actually close to 2 years, but looked seriously for the last 6 months before picking mine up and couldn't be happier.
