I am now 100% Apple free (except at work). I just got a Zune from Microsoft earlier this week and it beats the crap out of my old iPod. Video quality is great, the screen is bright and large, good battery life, the best interface I have seen in a portable mp3 player, and the software is easy to use. It has bluetooth file sharing between Zunes, which I haven't had a chance to try out yet.

I got a third party dvd ripping app for under $30 and am ripping all my dvd's on to the Zune. A 2 hour movie is around 900mb so you can easily fit over 30 videos on the 30gb HD!

It sounds great through the AUX input in the mazdaspeed 3, better than the iPod I used to use. So anyone in the market for a new mp3/video/photo player check out the Zune before throwing more money at Steve handJobs and the evol corporation known as Apple (notcool)

no click/scroll wheel on the zune FTL!

(<-------apple guy 4 lyffeeeeeee)

That just means you can put it in your pocket without changing volume or going to the next song. The scroll wheel was my least favorite part of my iPod anyway.

they made a hold button......lol

the zune is nice though. co worker has it. screen and colors are nice.

microsoft step in the right direction.... +1

actually it does support wav files. the firmware is basically windows media player 11 and with a simple registry edit you can use all these codecs:

Audio: .aif, .aifc, .aiff, .au, .cda, .mid, .midi, .rmi, .snd, and .wav

Video: .asf, .avi, .dvr-ms, .m1v, .m2v, .mod, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpa, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, and .wm

I dont see why buying from Steve Jobs is any worse than from Bill Gates.

But the Zunes are cool though.

The Zune is very cool. But Since I didn't really need all the features the ZNE had, and I avoid apple products like the plague, I got all my MP3 needs filled with the sandisk sansa e250. Best bang for the buck player out there IMHO.

which adaptor did you use to hook up to your factory radio?

Zune supports JPEG format for images, the WMV format for video, and these audio formats: MP3, AAC (.mp4), WMA Pro (2-channel), and WMA Standard.

Most people don't even know how to work a computer more or less hack the registry to make it support all those formats.

The creative Zen vision M IMHO is the best MP3/video player. the ipod is good ar what it does, my only complaint is their should be an off/on button. The only good thing about the zune is the FM radio and the screen.

The AUX in that comes with the ms3. I would like to get a small lcd screen in the near future to watch video.

I'm a lot better at modding computers and hacking registry than I am at modding my car (doh) iPod is nice and I'm sure creative makes a great player too, but I like the direction zune is taking with their firmware developement. Guess you have to be a geek to appreciate the thing :(

What did DRM do to make it crap?

nothing if you don't mind having other people tell you where and when you can listen to your music. oops i mean their music because according to the RIAA you don't own any music just the rights to listen to it. Rights they want to control.

Ive had my zune now for about 3-4 days after coming from an IPOD 4 LYFE phase. I must say I love this little thing and all the features it has.
