so tonight i was just cruising down metcalf, the main strip around here....

i missed my turn so i decided to make a u-turn there was no clearly marked sign...

i then went 2 blocks rollign to a stop light that turned green as i approached it so i then let off the clutch and kept moving forward... lgiths in my rear view mirror...

the cop gets out and tell em i made an illegal u-turn...3 blocks later... ok w/e.

so then he goes to his car for a long time with ym license... another cop shows u/// 3 officers ask me to step out of ym car... because it smells like marijuana... WTF! i dont smoke and none of my friends do... and i was alone...

they check em and the car... tell em i can sit back in it.

he comes back to tell em that the reason he smelled marijuana was because there was "shake" in my floor board... thats pieces of marijuana from rolliogn joints... wtf? hell no! that s*** is seeds and s*** from the three trees aroun d my driveway/// i leave my windows down alot.

and then on top of illegal u turn.. he says i took off too quick from that light... exhibition of speed.... but in reality i was just already rolling forward

i got an illegal u-turn and exhibition of speed... and a court date... this is bull s***!

i'm so pissed i cant afford this s***.

Fight it. I was heading to court for my last ticket and saw two troopers heading to a small accident I passed in the other direction. One of them turned out to be my officer, case dismissed! Also, cops don't always show up during summer court dates because of vacation.

They can only search your car if they have probable cause. They like to trick people into letting them search vehicles...if you know there's nothing in the car and your're completely sober, refuse. If they keep persisting tell 'em you know your rights! Sorry about the ticket, I never understood the whole no u-turn thing anyway. Just another way to generate revenue.

That didnt work for me he didnt show up and they just made me go back again then still said I was guilty after my third time back just cause I have previous tickets what BS. Oh it caused me to miss 3 days of work also.

Ask the right questions, if the Cop shows up.

What did the sample of the suposed substance that suposedly smelled like marijuanna turn out to be after the test? Ohh you dont have a sample and never ran any test, okay.

Where were you located exaxctly when the "exibition of speed" was commited?

How fast was the vehicle going before the "Exibition of speed"?

How fast did the vehicle accelerate to?

At wat point in the block did it start, and at what point did it finish?

Was the speed limit exceded?

Was there any tire squeel?

At what rate would you say the car was accelerating?

How far did the car accelerate?

How exactly was the "Exibition of speed" Determened?

Take Notes when he responds, he is full of s*** so there should be some holes there for you to work with. Most likely he will exagerate the details, expect it and use it.

Number 1 from behind the car it is VERY dificult to give these details with any certainty, if he seems to have the right answer for everything, play on that, How is he so confident on these statements being in a position it would be IMPOSIBLE to tell with ANY kind of ceretainty.

In the Section where the U-Turn was made on a hill, & or was there any sign SPECIFICALLY ristricting the maneuver? (Signs are all on file) (Where Im located you can do it so long as there is no sign and your NOT on a hill, check what the law is neer you.)

That must have been more than a simple speeding ticket then. In traffic court here, when the cop doesn't show you walk. The judge didn't even pull up my history on the computer before saying not guilty.

Nah I think the city where I got it was just going to make you pay no matter what they acted like they didnt even want to listen to what I had to say. It was for following to close and it was in heavy traffic immediately after I had switched lanes some van slammed on there brakes cause they seen a cop and I got a lil close. I did not continue to follow close and I wasnt following close for a long period of time.

These are very good questions. Do some research about the U-Turn law in more state or city. Maybe go in to the next town over police station and ask. Also type all these questions down in additon to others and bring them in. Take time to think of good ones and memorize them. Also come about 30 minutes early, it is worth your time to be on time. Dress real nice and you can even do a run though with someone acting as the really strict cop to become more comfortable. You can do this but you must be prepared.

and i knwo i could go without a lawyer... btu at 17... im ebtter to have one... especially since hes a close family friend.


and if theres one thing i learned from law and politics class its that bad searches can ruin a prosecuters case... he did not ask permission to search my car... which is a clear part of the US CONSTITUTION. even though it didnt affect my tickets.. a bad search can kill a case...

i guess we'll see in a month

Ahhh cops! I HATE EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to think that they were "just doing their job". Not anymore. I got caught up in some BS where the cop lied and got away with it. Im a professional driver and 29 and had a perfectly clean record until this a-hole pulled me over.

A couple cops got shot and killed around here a month ago right outside of thier station...no tears here. Obviously they pissed someone else off.
