Go Straight God Damnit!!!

:
MSP & MS3
Ok, so my MSP is only about 3 weeks old (a little over 3 hundred "driving miss daisy" miles) and the damn thing won't go straight!! Obviously I need a front end allignment or something... but why??? Has anyone else had this problem? I wouldn't be as pissed as I am if the dealership was A) easier to deal with and B) closer. The thought of driving a half hour just to leave my car with them... arrive at work 3 hours late... it's just not cool. I'm toying with the idea of bringing it to a local tire shop to perform an allignment just to avoid this hassle. (stupid dealership service dept isn't open on weekends) Anyone have any advice? Since the main advantage of the MSP is its awesome steering and handling, driving this thing isnt' as much fun as it was prior to it's desire to drive into the right gutter.

Alright, I guess it could be worse. Forcefed's MSP blew up on him so I'll stop complaining. L8R

Is it pulling bad? i dont suppose it could be the tire pressure causing it to slightly pull to one side? My P5 did that right from the dealer, but checking the pressure and filling it up a little more fixed that.

Nah.. that was the first thing I checked. (I would have been ripped if the tires started deflating after 2 weeks too!) Unfortuneatly, looks like the damn thing needs to be realligned... D'oh!

It shouldn't cost too much for an alignment at a local shop.. I'd say go for that and save yourself the trouble of going to the dealershiT.

I have to drive almost 3 hours to my nearest mazdaspeed dealer. You got it easy!

Car could have been knocked out of alignment when it was transported. I hear that is pretty common esp. with tight suspension cars.

The same thing happens to my MSP. I have not taken it in yet but some day i will. Maybe bc they changed the MSP so much and its the first year it has bugs that need to be worked out. So lets see so far my MSP pulls to the left, has the clunk, and has that hesitation problem. Ooo well i love my car .... :)

A dealer can do 1 allignment under warrenty in the first 10,000 miles.
Atleast this is what the service manager told me when they did my alignment for free last year.

That's cool. So should I be in a hurry to get this done? Aside from it being annoying, I can live with it.- for now at least (as long as it's not damaging to the car)

Any alignment issues can cause pre-mature tire wear.Have the dealer fix it(or a tire shop)otherwise you might be replacing tires sooner than you thought!

A car is actually very easy to knock out of alignment, even a simple bump can do it. I'd say, take to a reputable shop that's closer and get them to do it. But for god sakes, make sure they have the proper specs, and don't let them align it as if it was any other protege. There is a TSB for the MSP that states the proper alignment. This should have been done during the pdi
