GM's amazing engineers....

Just proof that Chev may know how to make horsepower....but that's it.

Top 10 Worse gas guzzlers.

Vehicle Make and Model City/Hwy/Combined

Lamborghini Murcielago 9/13/10
Chevrolet Silverado 2500 2WD 10/12/11
GMC Sierra 1500 10/12/11
Chevrolet Silverado 1500 10/12/11
Ferrari 456M 10/15/11
Ferrari 575M 10/16/12
Chevrolet Avalanche 10/13/12
Chevrolet Suburban 10/13/12
GMC Yukon 10/13/12
Chevrolet Tahoe 10/13/12

Notice how many are GM products. Another reason not to buy a domestic. (rofl)

Well ok, but...all those GM vehicles are the really the same truck. Sure some are pickups and the others are SUV models, but the underpinnings are really the same.

The other thing, nobody wants a wet hunting dog in a Lambo.

nor do they want to haul lumber....or if you are a gardener....to haul a few cubic yards of HORSE s*** in the backseat of their econobox......

I think if you looked....you would find that GM has also engineered and or sold quite a few SMALL cars that got pretty decent mileage.....not that they were great cars or anything...but then that is not what we are talking about here now is it.

and I am not really sure where the list came from...but I would be willing to bet that if you took the TRUE top ten gas guzzlers made....there are plenty of HIGH END performance cars that get a lot worse mileage than some of those listed....but hey....if you can afford to spend $250K on a car....who gives a flyin rats butt what kind of mileage it gets.

(stash)

99% of that list should have FORD EXURSION written all over it!

What about Fords fleet of gas guzzling underpowered soccer ball haulers?

LET'S NOT FORGET:
GM has refused to help the people who bought trucks with the new 327 that has a bad cylinder problem. They refuse to do a recall. It knocks and causes severe premature wear.

Mazda offered to BUY BACK the 2001 miatas from people who were merely dissapointed that the 01 had only 142hp as opposed to the promised 155hp. Now THAT'S customer satisfaction....

Hmmm...let me think....yah, I'll stick with the Mazdas...:D

The Excursion is the biggest waste of space I have ever heard of...

one ton chassis and well over 2 tons!!! no thanx...rarely have I ever even needed a full size truck...you know what? I'll rent one if I need it...

And here I thought the wet hunting dog in the front seat is what made the Lamborghini so dang classy...Damn, back to the ol' drawing board for me I guess.:(

Okay..so bob was WRONG....at least ONE person wants a wet hunting dog in the front seat of his lambo.....so by saying NO ONE..was just too general of a statement.....

I don't want to be a lone wolf (intentional pun) in this matter. I can easily change to not wanting wet hunting dogs in the front seat of my Lamborghini to fit Bob's statement.

Of course, I don't think it will ever really matter becuase I will never buy a Lamborghini. If I could afford one, I would buy a couple of Porsches instead, and a wet hunting dog to put in the front seat of them.:p

you know with MSN, you get those little annoying banner ads? Well, that's where the stats came from. Straight from MSN auto news page.

I just thought it was funny that a s*** load of GM's would be on there. Surprised the Hummer wasn't there though. ANd it's a list of currently available cars in production, that consume the most gas.

Hummer isn't really made by GM though. Kinda like mazda and fords relationship.

They're also huge freaking V8's pushing well over 300 hp. And the suburban comes with an 8.1 ltr. There's kinda a sacrifice when you have to pull a trailer with 2 2200 lb. horses around. Not that I know or even care about it, but if I had to buy a truck i would definately go american over foreign any day. Except dodge, I hate their trucks.

When it comes to Full Size truck I completely agree with you on the fact that Domestic owns the market. On small trucks companies like Toyota and Nissan and Mazda own the market. I hate rangers and s-10s. When it comes to certain things like you said towing horses you just can't beat a big American V8. My roommate is currently looking for a new F-350 with the 6.1 liter Diesel. He is going to be pulling probably a 20' enclosed trailer with upwards of 15000lbs or once summer rolls around he'll be yanking boats out of the water for us.
But it's kinda funny because that is why I got my Protege. gas mileage I mean. I get between 7-10 mpg in the city and between 12-16 on the highway in my Lightning. It has a 351 windsor and is 5.7 liters of Detroit muscle. With twin 15 gallon tanks I was constantly filling up.And this past summer killed me towing boats and jet skis to and from the lake. Actually got 3mpg once while towing. Boy does that suck. I have to run 93 in it because of my mods and so it got pretty damn expensive. Good thing it is paid off!

OMG, Never heard of gas milage as bad as 3 before. And I agree too. s-10'a and rangers do suck. I do love nissan fronteers, those are good looking trucks and not too small that you can carry the stuff you need. Toyota's are just too damn small, i could barely fit in my friends, and aren't mazda trucks just rangers? They look fairly close anyways. I really don't see a point in a truck smaller than a fronteer or dakota size.

I used to sell Chevys. The 8.1L 1 ton truck doesn't list the MPG on the wondow sticker because it is 8 mpg!!!

lol...

Simply put

I'd trade my Protege for anyone of those cars!

Show me any truck that can match those MPGs with anywhere near that much torque.

As for customer service, My Tranny sucks, the rear end squeeks and my dealer wants $150 to read the computer.

MAZDA SERVICE LICKS ASS!

I second that on the mazda service. I'll bet they can't even lick an ass correctly. Sure sucked at trying to kiss mine after I called them on what was wrong with my car and got Corporate involved.

My 2 dream trucks are

1. GMC Denali C3 2003 with the 4 wheel steering(THIS TRUCK LOOKS GOOD DRIVES GOOD AND IS JUST BAD ASS)

2. FORD HD Super Crew Supercharged. (I would turn it into a 4 door lightning) (Ahhh who am I kidding it is a ford so I won't own it)

i saw a list of "10 lowest towing capacities." all 10 are imports...another reason to stick with domestics (rofl)

that ZO6 is another gas guzzler...um, wait.

no it's not. name another 400+HP car that doesn't pay a gas guzzler tax.

(and btw, i'm not impressed with my ES's gas mileage. BARELY as good as my Type-S around town, worse on the hwy, and as a bonus -- 70 less HP.) but my old '90 SE was damn good...avg 35 mpg. :)
