Has anyone else with the GHL had the sort of problems that Jaysanooch experienced in the axle back section?

yea i did, they replaced it like 5 times. the problem was there was no flex pipe in the downpipe and the hangars were originally just welded to the side with no extra material for support. theyve remedied both issues now. plus their customer service is excellent.

i sold mine cause it drones really bad. the vibrant isnt near as bad but it uses the stock s.

I will be going with the GHL or Kens(when and if its released) 3in turbo back. I guess it all comes down to what your goals are for the car. I just think that the stock s-pipe is really restrictive.

I have not seen the Vibrant offered with a slant tip anywhere. Where did you get that pic from?

thats the only tip that comes on the vibrant system, there are no other options. i took that pic myself, its the vibrant on my car.

Just to explain it a little better and make the story longer lol!....the GHL has straight rods welded on at the exact places that you push through the exhaust hangers...everything fits great. Except that...these rods are slippery and straight...no hook at the end or a seat type thing for the rubber exhaust hanger to stay in place. So with a little fun driving, vibration and going over terrible roads like up here in Montreal, the axle back would always move 1-2" towards the driver side and hit the lateral links I believe. If you add passengers in the rear it would be even worst. I felt like an idiot, at the end of every ride, I would get out and kick the exhaust tip to move it back into place. I forgot to check for a few days once and the exhaust tip melted on my rear lip...so pissed!

So fed up with this, went to a local exhaust shop...got it all centered and then the guy welded these washers on the rods, tight against both sides of the hangers..problem solved, no more sliding, no more rattles. The only thing is, if I decide to remove the exhaust, I'll need to cut off the exhaust hangers...so basically I'm never removing this thing.

BTW, I used the Kartboy exhaust hangers...not sure if I had kept the oem hangers, if it would slide as much.

i just used small hose clamps on each side of the hangar. fixed that real easy.

My mistake, sorry about that. This is good to know. All the pictures on all the vendor sites I have looked at make it look like it is not slanted. And then when I read this description I lead me to believe that even more...
Exhaust Tubing Size: 3" (76mm) O.D.
Tip(s) Size/Style: 4" Round, Straight Cut (Single Wall)

Well when I started this thread I was leaning towards the GHL because it has been said that it is the best out there for our car but now because of what I am hearing about instal difficulties, fitment issues and the drone I am now leaning more towards the Vibrant. Oh and not to mention I found out that the Vibrant has a slanted tip as well, which was one of the reasons I was originally leaning towards the GHL. Please keep the opinions and info coming in. Also, those of you with the Vibrant who upgraded your S pipe, where did you get it from?

corksport is the only option for an S pipe. that wouldnt require you cutting and welding the vibrant.

ps. im selling my vibrant exhaust ;) wink wink

I was told that the vibrant and ghl are pretty much the same exhaust minus the different exhaust tip(muffler) whatever you wanna call it. And obviously the S pipe. The way I look at it is if you are going for sound then the vibrant would be for you. If you want that and some more power then you should get the ghl. I like the way my ghl sounds. I got it with the high flow cat option so I think it souynds really good. I like how the ehaust tip looks close to stock but just bigger. The vibrant has what I would call a big canister on the back. (ughdance) I think the ghl looks cleaner. Just my opinoin.

i like the vibrant look better a bit. the tip on the ghl is long so it always looked kinda funny for me. like the muffler is peeking out to say hi, whats up.

Mine doesnt stick out at all. But I can see what you are saying. The tip is a little long. The muffler part hides up under the car like the stock. The tip sticks out. I have just seen my fair share of ricer hondas around town with there big fart cannons on the back. Just like the close to stock look.

im not sure about ghl but with the vibrant you will have to reroute your o2 sensor and figure out how to bolt it to the stock s pipe. the factory hardware does not like to fit. the piping is so big that when the studs come thru the hole on the flange they are almost right up on the pipe. you could grind the collars down or use some other concoction of hardware to get it on there. these are the only issues with install for the vibrant.

The vibrant is 2.5in at the s-pipe and then expands to a 3in. Where as the GHL is a 3in all the way. Also a minor difference you can consider.

indeed, however the ghls resonator is only 2.5" so its kinda a bottleneck, i didnt check the vibrant one. i have a bunch of pics of the GHL if anyone wants one. i guess we can nitpick about them all ahaha
