Getting Screwed by Mazda

Thats not a bad idea at all. I am still without my car. The service department has now been blowing me off. I was supposed to hear back before the end of the day Friday on wether or not they would be covering the issue under warranty and my service rep went home without contacting me. Talked to the service manager again and I was told that they still have not heard from Mazda corporate on wether or not they were satisfied with the test results or whatever it is they are doing. I wont know anything until next week. Suffice to say the loaner car I was provided is receiving nothing but the best treatment while I have my time with it. I will be talking with the general manager on monday to complain and will move on to the attorney generals office if I do not have an answer by the end of the day Monday. I have already taken 3 vacation days to fulfill their requests and have dumped about $130 in gas driving to and from the dealership.

Sorry to hear it. And I have been hearing good things about Luther untill now and I was planning on going there for service.

BTW check out mnmazda.com We have quite a few speed3 owners there.

Have YOU talked to Mazda? If not please do NOT rely solely on dealer to tell you what "Mazda" is saying... .look at your owners manual and find the Mazda customer care section... CALL THEM and explain your situation...

If Mazda is like most car companies it is NOT corporate who dicates warranty repair or not - they distribute this decision to employee's who work certain regions and interface to the dealer - get a customer representative from Mazda to work WITH YOU - the customer representative will talk to the regional centers, explain your side and concerns.... I had a regional guy pull crap on the Chebby for a week not wanting to spend time and effort in fixing it - one call from customer rep removed all BS from the equation...

Stop relying on dealer and deal with Mazda directly... may not work but you cut out the dealer BS.....

As for "documented turbo problems" that someone posted - can you please point me to the "documentation"

And btw: asking for proof of proper maintenance prior to performing warranty work is their right - if you have the receipts you shouldnt have to worry about it - I doubt they will need every single receipt - I doubt if you are missing ONE and can show in good faith that you are taking care of the car that they would be hardasses and still deny the claim.... btw: the customer rep should be able to explain to you in detail what is it that Mazda is waiting on etc - it is bulls*** that the dealer is telling you Mazda wants to do further testing without telling you what that testing is..its the dealer that will do the extra testing so how can they not know what the hell they are supposed to test

One thing about having receipts for your oil, is that it doesn't mean that you actually changed the oil, it just says that you bought the oil. So you can get a bunch of your friends to get you a ton of oil receipts.

But then watch out the dealer might ask you for the receipts for the labor that you did yourself. My Mazda dealer treated me like a retard, pretty much refused to help me in any way.

Im really sad to see this happening. Ive personally never had it happen, but maybe i got lucky. With times the way they are (money being tighter), you would think that customer service, and doing what you can to bring the customer back happy, would be priority one.

I know this happens with other brands, but you guys with ms3's are really getting the shaft it seems like. I know all about mods and how they will do what they can to deny warranty, but it seems like they are really being particular this time around. Its rather scary.

I'm thinking all this warranty denying might have something to do with all the $$ Mazda had to fork over for the bad turbo / recalls, etc at the beginning. They're trying to cut back on spending now by voiding warranties when they can. Perhaps they didn’t make as big of a profit as they liked with the MS3.

It sure isn't encouraging me to keep my MS3. Mazda is beginning to act like VWoA, and I read enough about that over on the Vortex that I removed the GTI from my short list.

Might be that or they are trying to recoup the cougar ace loss.

i work at a dealership (general motors dealer but the same)... in your owners manual it doesn't say you need to. they cannot deny your claim for no proof of reciepts. what you need to do is go to secretary of state and file a complaint against the dealer. the state will then contact them and they will do the repair for fear of losing there repair lic. they know there in the wrong so by doing that they have no choice.

good info. thats the first time ive heard that one.

This is if your state attorney's office is in the mood to hear your complaint. But it beats complaining about a warranty denial on a web forum.
