Getting extra set of rims have questions

I got some 16" rims from a friend of mine and am wondering what size tire I should get My car is not lowered yet and I still want to have about the same distance between my fender and tire my friend said that I sould go with a 215/55 is this correct please help all appreciated.

It depends on what you're looking for. 215 may rub a bit with 16" rims. If you go with 215s you need a 215/50 R16 but the more ideal fit for the MP3 is the 205/50 16R
