Gear removal

How you guys remove gears from the primary and secondary shaft? Im about to remove my 3rd gear but the bearings are a b1tch to remove.

yeah I would like to know as well because I want to be able to rebuild my tranny when it becomes time

Shop press with a bearing plate

i removed the gear today with a gear puller, but put it back i must need a press.

yeper had to take one to work to press them back on the bearing brace broke in half when the differtial went out. it was about to spill its guts when I found it lucky

Its probably a good idea to heat the bearing first before put it on isnt it?

Ya we baked them if i remember correctly helps with expanding but they shrink quick so doit fast these things are meant to take heat.sorry I cant remember the temp.
