Do any of u have this setup? From what I can see there is only 1 type of GC coilovers for the 3rd gen protege, but it doesnt state whether they are suitable with illuminas? It says compatible with "stock, sachs, boge"
(I assume its fine but just want to be sure)

I currently have a 1.75" drop approx king springs (australian brand) and was going to get lower springs.... but if the GC/Illumina setup is proven & reliable I might order the ground control coilovers instead.

Appreciate any info/opinions.

Cheers

I've got the GCs w/ Illuminas. Just installed them last month and I've done a couple of autoxes on them now and a few hundred miles of general running around. I had Sprint springs before, which gave me a 2" drop and MSP struts, but I like the GCs much better. The handling is dramatically improved but it is a lot stiffer now, the drop is a bit lower too.

sweet!
was there only 1 type that you chose from? the part number i'm looking at is GC5046-01

I have the GC's and i need to get some struts, do i NEED the Illuminas or will the HP's work ok?? What would you guys suggest?

I got mine used, so I can't help you out there. But for most 3rd gen. Protege suspension stuff, there usually is only one type to choose from.

The HPs will probably be fine. I wanted the adjustability of the Illuminas for autox.

haha well i dont do any of that, i just need a strut that will hold up with how low my car is. then i guess the HP's will work just fine. Thanks

the blues are said to be about the same as the 3 setting on illuminas's. As far as the coilovers go, you can order whatever spring rates you want for the springs.

I'm pretty sure theres only one type of GC coilover to choose from, but you can get custom spring rates from eibach if you contact them and order it from them.
