On your next wash I suggest going over it with a fine clay towel on round 2 with the soap. I bet the paint isn't smooth, it's just what happens when we daily drive these cars. It will pick up everything a normal wash doesn't and will be really clean after that. I do this once or twice a year.

It's a towel with a synthetic clay material on one side, and functions the same as a detailing clay for pulling contaminants like tree sap and road tar off the paint. Here's a link to one I've been eyeing.

That's the one I used last weekend to unclog my ceramic coating. It's a wonder how it's able to pull junk off the paint and make it smooth again without marring. Kind of expensive on its own, but consider it a very useful tool if you like to keep your car clean.
