Gas prices...OUCH!

I will have to drive 2 miles and wait in line to get $4.15 per gallon at a local ARCO. My regular place is at $4.25 now. :(

Hope you aren't idling. With only 13.5 gal avg fillup, you might as well spend an additional $0.20/gal if you are going to idle in line. (Same with the drive thru window.)

I'd love to see the effects of idling. Idle for an hour and see how much gas that uses up.

You've got it good, compared to us suckers in the People's Republic of Chicago. I actually saw $5.02 for 93 octane today. And that really sucks when you have 2 turbo cars. :( Time to trade in one of them for a 5 already. At least that takes regular!

I tried to go to that ARCO once but couldn't even get close to a pump. I went to my local place instead and paid $4.25/gal. 10 cents savings per gallon means less than $2 per tank. For me, the long wait and extra maneuvering to get a pump costs more than $2.

Hope you aren't idling. With only 13.5 gal avg fillup, you might as well spend an additional $0.20/gal if you are going to idle in line. (Same with the drive thru window.)

It's fallen $.20 in the last week here. Back down to 3.87 and falling.

$0.20!! We've seen maybe $0.02 decline unless you search out the out-of-the-way ARCO stores. Was lucky 2 weekends ago. Btw Phx & Tucson, I found premium for the Volvo @ $3.76 - the same price as mid-grade at the same pump. Wasn't quite empty then, but I am still on 3/4 of that tank. Hopefully it will last until its $3.50/$3.40/$3.30 again. Oil has been dropping, so its only a matter of time before the busiest stations get supplied at the lower wholesale prices and pass it on. Some of you have seen that already. (jealous)

Guess you missed what happened yesterday? Oil jumped $3 barrel. I'm kinda ok with the price (can't change it), I just wish they'd stabilize - but I guess that's been unrealistic for what 40 years?

Is dairy that much cheaper in the states? I haven't really noticed it. Milk is $4.50~ a gallon here and the one time I bought cheese from the states it wasn't very good cheese, comparing IGA house brand cheese in the US to Real Canadian Superstore house brand cheese. Could be worse, could be Hawaii. $9 a gallon of milk, anyone?

I went to Point Roberts, WA to pick up my shipment from Griot's Garage. Decided to get some gas before heading back to Canada.

Maybe one of the only places in the USA where they sell gas by the litre. (rei) I guess when 90% of your customers are Canadian, you have to cater to your main customers? Those are American dollars, but in Canadian dollars it was $1.15 9/10 per litre, way better exchange rate than I got at my bank. :( At the pump it did say $4.53 2/10 a gallon. More expensive than the mainland USA but 70 cents a gallon cheaper than in Vancouver. It was even cheaper at Can Am gas, $1.12 9/10 a litre, but I'm wary of no name gas stations and Arco.

Border lineups were pretty long. I'm receiving a second shipment from Griot's for other stuff I need... I'll probably park my car and walk across next time. The 30 minute combined wait was not really worth it, the receiver is a 5 minute walk from the border.

Cheers.
