gas milage issue

hello everyone i recently bought a 2006 mazda 3 i 2.0 and im only getting like 22 miles per gallon i thought that number was a little low for a 5 speed.

That is about average for city driving. That said, there is something you can do to help with fuel economy. One is change the plugs ad gap them to .040-.045. Last year I changed my plugs and gapped them at .046 and found an improvement. Check your tires and make sure the pressure is to spec.
