gas brands??

Have any of you noticed big differences between gas brands?

When I had my honda I ALWAYS used Holiday gas, the engine just felt better. So I've continued with my msp, but with 93. Holiday is the only station around here that offers 93 octane, everyone else is 92, definitely no California 94-95, at least not in normal stations.

There's always been what I guess might be the hesitation you guys describe around 3k-5k, though it never felt like a big deal.

On a road trip one time I was forced to buy shell, and I swore it felt better, but I thought I musta been imagining it. This morning, out of desperation I bought Conoco 92, and it was amazing! Any "hestitation" from 3-5k was totally gone, felt much smoother and maybe a bit more powerful.

I think I'll try Conoco for a while, see how it holds up, have any of you had similar experiences? Do you know what causes the differences? I know holiday has "blue earth" gas which I think means it has a bit of ethanol in it, is that bad?

I always use BP (Amoco) it is 92 which is the highest here, everywhere else is 91...never tried anything else, that one octane point means a lot to me :)

I've been using chevron ever since I took my friends engine apart when he threw a rod and saw that every valve was clean even after 85,000 miles when he only used chevron.

I used to go with Chevron, but the only station in the area changed so now it's Shell 93.

But then you have to wonder...what does that say about their gas?

Well, even though i dont have an msp.... I use only mobil and chevron... whichever is cheapest. Shell is cheap. Exxon is cheap. 76 is cheap. Those gasolines are for old cars. anyway, its just my 5 cents. B03M
