FWD vs RWD

RWD is more fun, and offers more performance. When you hit the gas in a car, the weight "shifts" backwards. In a FWD car, the front end "lightens up" and some traction is lost, making it harder to accelerate. In a RWD car, that weight shift puts more traction into the rear tires which increases grip and you can therefore accelerate more easily. This is one of the reason why most (if not all TRUE) sports cars come w/rear wheel drive. Because you can go faster more easily.

And for those who like mid-engined/rear wheel drive cars- have you driven a 911? Even the old ones have remarkable acceleration due to it's rear-engine/rear-drive lay outs. That layout also gives you great braking. You should drive one some time if you haven't already. You just have to be more careful in the corners with them. :)
