fun cheap mods! long post

I can do a write-up... The only issue I'm having is the brace that attaches to the end of the sway bar. The nut and the stud are both turning and I can't get them to break apart... it's driving me nuts (which is a really short trip to begin with!)

ADC- How did you get them off? Boy that came out wrong...

My car is just a bit over a year old, and I live in Michigan so I think it's the salt (at least that's what I'm going with...) that's got everything "welded" together with rust.

Of all the people whom did the power window mod. Did any one take a look at their driver side control actuator AT NIGHT !!!!!!! It lights up(constant pwr) you tell me.....that can't be good.

i got the bushings in today..worked on my car for about an hour trying to make it fit....the brakets are a pain in tha ASS to fit...i have to work on it for a little longer to make the bends line up w/ the stock holes.... pain in the ASS....but im on a mission to get them on...i cut off about 1/5 of an Inch of the bushings to make them a little smaller on the side that is next to the car....hopefully they will go on my car tomorrow...

I've been trying on and off for the past few days to get everything lined up and bent correctly, and I'm about ready to scrap the whole idea. This is turning out to be a very frustrating mod...

(bang)

swaybar will decrease the amount of understeer tremendously in FWD cars. it'll tighten up the rear alot. look into the AWR swaybars and mounts. i am about to pick one up this weekend from a friend (he is selling a 19mm AWR bar and he installed a MSP bar).

On the power window mod- don't worry about the light- it doesn't really drain the battery at all, I have had zero problems with it. If you are going to leave your car for 6 months, disconnect the battery, if not, no issue.
Deadair- did you take of the factory ones and line them up with the new ones? That would seem to be the simplest way to get it right?

(eek2) Sorry it didn't work out for you, it went on in like 20mins for me, you don't even have to take the bar off all the way like someone was trying to do. I didn't have to cut the bushings or anything like you're saying. Seriously, it was an easy mod. Unbolt the stock bushing brackets, yank them off, bend the new brackets to the same angles in a bench vise, and bolt them on. I had to start one bolt about 1/3 of the way, then get the next started, and then tighten them both up. It squished around the bushing a bit, but it holds the bar like it should and doesn't squeak or anything. Sorry it was the worst $20 for you, it's been the best $20 for us so far.......

Did you get them from the same sources? IE, Jegs? 'Cause Energy Suspension bushings may be different from Jegs, or whatever.

Yep... put 'em side-by-side with the new brackets in a bench vise and bent them to match (or as close as I could get) but no love...

ADC- Where are you? If you're in SE Michigan stop by and I'll pay you to put these on for me :-D

Just yesterday we got a set of lowering springs, I got them for $100 through a dude in the Marketplace, he says customers so far think they're good. They're supposed to lower the car about an inch and it's supposed to be just slightly firmer than stock; I sure hope it's not much harder, cause the car rides dang good as it is. I just want to lower it a bit. They go on next week.

Where did you get the springs from????

If you want to let your window down a little, let say for ventilation purpose, down one (or all) of the other windows (passenger or back ones) and push the lock button. Go in peace now...

doesn't the Polyurethene busing squeak after awhile, i thought i read a post somewhere, that when you put such busing you have to also put some marine grease, or something that won't wash out with water, ..rain. .etc..
has anyone heard about this issue before.?
