Fuel pump?

I've been searching and reading around about Mrlilguy cdfp on MS3 but I haven't heard too much about it on the MS6, anyone have this? if so, what differences do you see and feel?

I'm trying to decide whether I should go for a downpipe first or the fuel pump, anyone?

Definitely the downpipe, along with a full exhaust and CAI. You'll get a big SOP improvement. AFAIK, the fuel pump is not required with the OEM turbo, or even with a bigger turbo, unless you have a weak fuel system or other malfunctions. YMMV...

thanks, I'm really considering the corksport DP since I already have the test pipe and custom cat back. I haven't noticed any malfunctions with my fuel system except for the fuel cut when I raised boost. I guess I'll go for the dp first then fuel pump.

if you do go the downpipe route be prepared for when you turbo starts to smoke from not enough backpressure if you have no cats... just my .02

When does it begin to smoke? Mine doesn't and I only have the tiny 6" high-flow cat from ATP in my ATP DP. Also no CEL. I can see right through it with a flashlight and mirror.

Yeah, I keep hearing about this smoke issue, this is one of those things that make you think again about this dp. I'm willing to take the risk but then is the ATP dp better at hiding that smoke?

I dont know when it will start to smoke but the chances of it smoking are far greater without any cats regardless if you can see through it. What exhaust are you running?

There really isnt a way to "hide" the smoke... even people who have both cats still on and a stock exhaust system blow smoke out of the muffler(s). Its just when the turbo decides there isnt enough back pressure to seal itself correctly will the seals go and thus creating smoke out of the exhaust

Says in my sig..., Corksport CB duals hooked up to the ATP DP...

I've also never had the "fuel cut" problem. I run it to 18+ psi on occasion as well. Maybe I'm just lucky, or the XEDE maps from PG are doing their job and my OEM fuel system is up to the task...?

Im not to familiar with the corksport system and how many resonators there. I have a custom 3" setup without resonators or cats connected to an Apexi N1 muffler. So i practically have no back pressure to the turbo. After the seals went on the stocker I installed the Gt3071 and havent had the smoke problem because the turbo is ball bearing and doesnt need back pressure to seal.

Ive never had the fuel cut problem on the stocker either. Im def sure the xede with the maps from PG are helping you out alot with fuel cut.

The Corksport CBE is 80mm (3.15") from the ATP DP to the rear axle where it splits into TWO 80mm outlets with straight-through mufflers and nothing else. I would venture to say I have less backpressure in the Corksport sytem than any other set-up, custom or otherwise. My ATP DP may have some amount of backpressure due to the HF cat. I also may have problems with the OEM turbo later on, or if the car begins to feel "slow", I have a GT3071R sitting on the shelf in my garage waiting for install.

Man, sounds like just about everyone is going for the GT3071 turbo, I've thought about it but I think the GT2871 is more for me, not sure if this car can handle all of that power.
So, if the seals go and the turbo begins to smoke do you definitely have to replace the stocker or is it because of the annoying smoke?

we run the 3071R with the XEDE tuned for it and the car runs awesome on the stock engine. its definetely doable - to a point - if you are tuned right. nice thing about the 2871R is that you will spool up faster than a comparable 30 series.

i was reading in the 3 section a couple of guys are using a thicker weight oil, there saying they dont get as much smoke or very little.. a catch can would get rid of it if its done correctly through the pcv vavle as well my buddy lee did that curred his problem..
