Just wondering, since the engine is direct injected, is it worth it to add fuel injector cleaner to the gas every so often of is it a waste of money???

Says right in the owners manual, quote, "Never add fuel system additives. Never add cleaning agents other than those specified
by Mazda. Other cleaning agents and additives may damage the system. Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer."
I had a buddy once use some Prestone "Octane Booster" (it was actually called "0-60 Booster" but it was the same ingredients) and it started degrading the fuel line. It was an older truck, about 14 years old at the time, but depending on the ingredients and concentrations, then yes, it degrade rubber, possibly corrode metals. I am no chemical expert though.
