I have been trying to find where I can pick-up a fuel filter for my 02. I searched this site and all over online and I can't find any part numbers or anything. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated, thanks.:D

From what I remember when I was going to change mine, it is in the gas tank...

I called mazda when I was going to my 30K maintenance, they said not to worry about it.

Good luck.

I just did my 30,000 maintenance and Mazda didn't change the fuel filter. They told me not too worry about that. Hmmm, I am wondering when we should change the fuel filter then :p

Unless there is a problem, you shouldn't have to change the fuel filter. You have to pull the fuel pump/float assembly out of the tank in one piece. Then the filter comes off. It's overkill unless you picked up a bad tank of fuel.

honda's fuel filter need to be replace around 75000miles, for my old honda it's a inline unit with a pressure bleed valve built on top=15 minute job

but the GSX that i once worked on it's a pita, it's way down there with all the intercooler pipe in your way :(

on most of the newer import(again my 02 honda) have a intank filter, like a sandwiched layers of mesh that clamps on the end of the fuel pupm assembly

Just changed mine today because it was causing a pain in the ass leak...it wasnt all that hard just took a couple of hours...although it does help that i didnt change it at home and had a hydrolic lift to assist me..

Fuel leak??? How does the fuel filter cause a leak if the filter is in the gas tank?

And where did you get the fuel filter?

The P5 has no inline fuel filter?? I find that hard to believe, but if you can prove me wrong, feel free. :)

The white mesh thingy you are seeing in that pic is the fuel strainer. Every in-tank fuel pump should have one of these on it. There should also be an inline fuel filter somewhere. At least this is what selling parts for 8 years tells me.

well according to the manual it is an intank filter....

s*** if i know how it happened....the mazda dealership who i took the car to told me to try changing the filter....i think that the filter was bad or somthing and caused some sort of pressure build up...which caused it to leak...other than that i dont know...
