Fuel cut

To answer everyones question about the fuel cut, Yes the PCM will cut the fuel if it see's a over boost. The problem is that it doesn't say what boost level it cut's the fuel at. I assume that if it cut's the fuel at some point the engine has been tested to make sure that it's the safest boost level the stock engine can handel. This info is directly from MAZDA and can be found in the 2003 service highlight manual. If 12 psi doesn't make the PCM cut boost then in my opinion that's not the peak safe boost.:)

woo woo. thats tyte. now i got to get a boost controler. hmm so it WILL cut fuel at a certain boost. if you don't mind me asking, how did you come about this information kevin?

Yes it will cut fuel if the PCM sees a over boost condition.
It also said that if this happens it won't set the check engine light.

Good above 4000rpm. Below in higher gears has pronounced stumbling if you dip too far into the throttle. S-AFC would help under 4000rpm by richening the mixture up.

That's pretty cool man. If I get anymore info I will post it. The service highlight manual came today and I looked through it first thing. That's the most important thing I could see. If you can think of any other specific ?'s let me know.

the fuel cut hits @ 10 psi.. I have a Greddy Profec E-01 and whenever i hit the fuel cut i always look at the peak hold and its always from 10.1 to 10.4

Its not uncommen for some cars to hit FC earlier than others.

Now I heard that some of you guys blew the rods boosting 10psi? Shouldnt the FC be lower than 10psi if this is the case?

yeah thats .71 bar no cut!

just so you know .71 bar is only 10.4 psi. i set my boost at 10.5 psi last night and every time it hit 10 psi it cut out no matter if i spiked it by just flooring it or gradually worked the boost up it cut every time. i did make it spike to 10.7 psi though it was a rather violent jerk when it cuts out...chris you will see if you get your E-01 installed that 10 psi is where the fuel cut is at...
