FTC Update....

OZ with a turbo? what kind of power can those make on the stock motor?
My car was putting down about 180-200whp. I had it dynoed, but the readings were all messed up, they showed my A/F going up over 20:1 at 3200rpms, so the guys didn't do a hard run and still charged me full price. Bunch of assholes. Of course my A/F wasn't that high, or my engine would have exloded. RRM has put down about 235whp at 11psi or something around there. I think their engine blew at 12psi. They have their shop car up to 280whp with forged internals at 13psi.

Back on topic, any update on when these will be released?

Ok well i did lock myself in the room and we came to an agreement and i continued to argue against it for the past week or so. In the end I lost. THe FTC will only be offered with timing retard. A couple of factors influenced this decision. Obviously first off was the liability, the lawyer and his lawfirm own the majority share of the company so untill i scrounge up the 20K to buy them out I have to listen to them and they said its just a risk they dont want to take with the AFC performing so well. Second they pointed out that the market is flooded with ftc type products, be it the mpi, haltech, unichip, etc and jumping into the market has a chance of not turning a profit. To be honest I kind of agree with them on the second point, I think the mpi, haltech and microtech systems are great products. So for the time being we're just going to stick with our AFCs.....but dont be suprised if you see some major addons for the afc coming out here pretty soon...on another note i need to get ahould of beau, or nick or someone and see what kind of timing advance they're running...who knows maybe if i chalk up some proof that its safe they'll back down.

So what you are saying is the there will NOT be a FTC coming out....Correct?
Looks like you guys are going to incorperate more things into the AFC...Man I was really looking forward to the results from the FTC as well....

The only way timing control can help a mazdaspeed is because mazda's timing retards when the car is warmed up. If you had a front mount you eliminate the need for this. Also if you run c16 you can have you a really nice timing curve :). Besides I personally think its more dangerous giveng people control over the injector duty cycle than timing. think if some newb to tuning decides to pull his injectors to 100% duty cycle that=zoom zoom boom. If there is no timing advance I have no interest in this product.
