FSDE 323 Swap

No progress so far, we were working on the grey protege and for the spare MSP manifold from terbow, been waiting for the manifold almost 3 weeks and pushing back the 323. ( I cant fund both things at the same time)

So, now seeing that one of the members is producing one in stainless steel for a good price, I think im going on forward with the 323. Hopefully, we will start working on it right now this week.

Now you've got me wondering if I could put a FSDE in my BF chassis 323 GTX!

People have put BPs in them. I'm looking to do that soon. The old B6 in my wagon is on it's way out. I'm getting ready to have a 300,000 mile party for it. Then the old B6 comes out and she gets a rebuilt BP.

Subscizzled. I have to follow the progress of this. That whit 323 is a beast 9 sec quarters damn!!!

insane, im impressed @ how well the FS fits in place of the BP I still say your better off with the FE3 (evil) (evil) (evil)

Let's blow up this engine 1st, hehe

Dont worry, I dont think I will need over 30psi...I dont have the budget to repair parts every week.

yes of course...the block is strong, a set of forged rods and piston, a balanced crankshaft, a good turbo combination, ems and injectors will do fine.

15psi daily will be very good, that will put you around 300whp.

I tried that swap some years back and had to abandoned the idea b/c i thought i had to do lot of fabrication to make it work .

Hmmm all I had to do is use the Kia 1.8L support brackets for the motor mounts. I'll take pics of what was need to do to make it work.

i still cant beleive u guys runthat sort of power thru a mazda trannie/gear sets . do u change them every race meet??

what goes wrong with the BP at 600hp? i have a FE3 in my garage here for a mates car but the motor doesnt look any better in performance to the bpt really , just 1mm larger valves , the head ports are no bigger, and the extra CC im guessing is all?

how large is the FSDE in length compared

the BPT will start warping the head or blowing the head gasket every race. The FSDE is still holding in place even with stock head bolts and gasket.

About the tranny, they go with 2 spare trannies just in case. But definitely holding better than stock gears.

FE3 engine is a squared engine, holding over 400whp STOCK, the weakest part is the head, it doesnt hold high rpms. Got some videos if u are interested?
