Hey y'all. I'm looking to pick up a laptop, and to make that happen, I need to find a new home for my desktop.

Here are the specs on it:

* Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor (dual-core) @ 2.93 GHz (stock speed) ... more info here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115001
* Intel D975XBX2 motherboard ... more info here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121060
* Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 memory 2GB (2x1GB) ... more info here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145589
* eVGA 8800GTX video card w/ Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound ... more info here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130072
* Antec PCI slot cooler (placed under the video card) ... more info here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835129025&Tpk=antec%2bpci
* Antec P180 case ... more info here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129154
* Antec NeoHe 500W PSU ... more info here - http://www.buy.com/prod/antec-neopower-500w-atx-12v-power-supply/q/loc/101/202014022.html
* Swiftech watercooling system modified for the Antec P180 (CPU and Northbridge blocks) ... more info here - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/2...Liquid_Cooling_Kit_Universal_Mount.html#blank
* 2x Seagate Barracuda 160GB hard drives in RAID 0 (essentially a faster 320GB drive) ... more info here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148230
* Samsung dual-layer DVD burner ... more info here - http://computers.pricegrabber.com/dvd-rom-dvd-writers/m/17662951/
* Generic floppy drive
* Generic PCI NIC

I'll also be including some various parts and manuals left over from building.

The PC has a fresh copy of Microsoft Windows XP SP2, all validated and ready to go. I'll also throw in a copy of Windows XP x64 (in case you'd like to try out some 64-bit computing). Other software also installed on the computer (but easily removed if you so choose):

- Microsoft Office 2007
- Nero 7 Ultra Edition
- Windows Media Player 11
- Cyberlink PowerDVD
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple iTunes

I've also taken the liberty to install a few games to put the system to the test:

* S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl
* F.E.A.R.
* Battlefield 2
* Call of Duty 2
* Quake 4

(the games are full versions, and the CDs/manuals/cases are all included)

Once the PC was up and running, I set out to test how effective the watercooling system was. From the stock 2.93 GHz, I was able to reach 3.8 GHz stable (due to the cooling, unlocked CPU multiplier, and fast RAM). The processor was then brought back down to its stock speed and has been running at that speed since. All of the parts of the PC are in great condition and running strong.

For everything, I'm asking $2200, though I am willing to negotiate on things. Here are links to the pictures:

Drool... what a killer setup, and with a genuine Intel mobo!

it's still looking for a good home .. any offers?

diggler .. i'm pretty sure anytime that i've sold computer stuff on this forum, you've been the one to snag whatever it is i'm selling.

Usually have been. The 965 mobo and Pentium D I bought from you are running very well as my workstation in our new office. I'd love to have this stuff but it's way outside my budget.

why a pci nic when it has onboard?

does anyone use floppies anymore;)

floppy drives are essential.
reasons for a floppy drive:
raid drivers
ethernet divers
pci card drivers
boot disk
bios updates
and more DRIVERS
somtimes its just faster and safer too back up small amounts of data to a floppy.
computer programmers like myself use floppies to test programs written in Java, C++, VB and a bunch of other stuff.

but ya floppies are old school but still used by some
bye the way great processor. im trying to sell my computer to but im not going to rain on your parade. cuz i got you beat.
good luck

Sweet rig, but I'd still take the Intel mobo. Haven't lost one out of a couple hundred I've used since '98. Asus is my 2nd fave, but just had my first failure on one that had been in service for about 3 years. Going fast on an Intel mobo is the best of both worlds, IMO. Getting off topic, but when did they start releasing unlocked CPU's? I thought that stopped late in the original Pentium series.

they dont release unlocked processors. i got connections at intel. hence the engineering sample. these priceless to some. i got the pentium 560ES and the core2duoES. you cant buy them, you must work at intel or "know" someone who does. there so hard to get i tried selling the 560ES on ebay and intel removed my listing within 24hours. i recieved some nasty emails from their investigators asking where i got the processor from and of course i didn't tell them.

intel boards are cool but asus overclocks way better. you think intel wants you to overclock their processors"? if they did their CPU's wouldn't be locked! ASUS on the other hand boasts about overclockability and they have one of the best warranties. i spilt water all over my P5WD2E-Premium motherboard and fried it. sent it back and i got a new one in a month.

plus im selling mine cheaper then his but i wont sell mine on this thread until he gets his laptop. plus i already have some local buyers. just waiting for them to get the cash.
peace
