Interesting how I stumbled onto this thread (boom08)...
I am currently running that type of supercharger on my MP3. You would still need a few more pieces to mount it on the protege and get the car running. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123766043 this is the link to my build thread and shows what else you need. The only problem is that there are only about 10 mr. speed supercharger kits in existence for the ford probe (which works on the protege).
This kind of supercharger setup is pretty sweet if anyone else wants to do it. Amazing torque at whatever rpm, put the foot down and the car just simply pulls with zero lag. The supercharger has a electric clutch which I have wired up to turn on/off with a switch. In traffic I just drive in regular NA mode, and whenever you get the urge for spirited driving just flip the switch and you got full boost. Without changing any pulleys it will make 5 psi, but the power is not the equivalent of t25 5psi. The supercharger was made for a larger displacement engine about 2.5-3.5 liter engines making the air flow greater.
There is also another person on the forum with a supercharged ford probe using this setup, bedwards6954, he has very good info about this because he got it originally off the probe forums.
Almost forgot to mention the best part, roots type SC whine ftw.
