Frustration

That certainly sucks. We had laptops swiped out of our office at one place I worked.

I have the SOLUTION to your problem. Hide a camera in your office a video camera. Dont make a big deal about your old camera if its not to late. Leave your office and put like a old wallet or purse laying on your desk really obviouse leave like 20 bucks inside the wallet or old purse. Leave you office for a while or put a sign on your door that says will be back in 1 hour or something like that to give the criminal time. and let the video record, The first night or two nothing may happen, but after a few days something will happen, They will get gready. it takes time but eventually something will come up. UNDER NO SERCUMSTANCES DONT TELL ANYBODY THAT YOU WORK WITH ABOUT THIS!!! because with the word of mouth the subject who took your things might find out about this master plan. It may not be the cleaning crew. It could be someone you know in your job that doesnt like you. people who usually steal are people that know you and know what you have. you might be surpised on who it is. I have been doing this kind of work for 3 years, I work for target loss prevention.

We used to have some people who would come in and steal memory (back when it was really expensive). They would hit a floor at a time, then start over (spreading out the weekends they hit). Finally they caught an ex-employee doing it, who was using a friend's access control stuff.

A couple of months ago someone stole a PDA that an idiot left sitting on his desk. I had a Athlon MP processor disappear from my lab table. And we have camera's everywhere, but they never caught either of them (but the thefts mysteriously stopped after we fired a technician caught surfing porn).
