Anyone here know about where to look for parts to fix frozen calipers on my MP3? I just found out at least one of my rears is frozen...

Or how to fix the problem without spending much money... :)

BFH and about 4 hours. Remove the line, the parking brake cable, and the top bolt. pry it open, remove pads and close it. Start wailing on it until it's popped out to the point where it's flush with the rotor. then, open it and pound on it again until it's off. Once off, get a new slide pin, and a ton of caliper slide pin grease.

A wire plumber's brush might also be good to clean up the hole on the caliper itself.

Be sure to soak everything in pb blaster before, during, and after you get it off. It'll help soften the rust, and then you can brush it clean and replace the slide pin.

Had to do this myself on the driver's rear. Took about 4 hours, but I was able to clean up the slide pin and reuse it after some time with a dremel and a polishing bit.

If you're at a point where the pads are shot, and/or the rotor from the pads being shot, you'll have to replace those as well.

You can use a big c clamp to compress the front calipers but on the back take off the bolt like cap in the back center of the caliper and under it you will see an allen key screw. Put the correct allen key in there and just back it out and that is the easiest way to compress those if you are changing everything out. I just went drilled and slotted all around last month and was done in abou 5 hours and switched to stainless lines so if you have any questions message me.
