Front motor mount

Prop up the engine, untighten bolt, and take out the two bolts underneath that hold it to the frame. And boom, its out.

Ok i have to prop up the engine. where is a good place to mount the jack to prop up the engine?
i was trying to unbolt it without the engine being propped up and i couldnt get that big 17mm side bolt or for anything.

Isnt there three bolts holding the mount? So as soon as i jack up the engine the side bolt should be alot easier to take off?

Yes because the weight of the front of your engine is resting on that bracket and bolts.

Edit: You'll have to use a breaker bar any way though. It's going to be hard to get off.

i would use the transmission as the jacking point. worked for me when i jacked out the old mount.

Damn i should have known all of this, i am learning, that is why i love this site so much!!!!!!
I'll go and try to put it in later on today, thanks alot
Anything else i should know?

yes, transmission as the jacking point, BUT I didn't really have to jack it up, I just put it there supporting it. After I took the mount off I played with the jack and the motor didn't move much.

Also, for the getting the throughbolt off with a breaker bar, the best way that I found was driving up on ramps, unscrewing that plate right underneath/next to the mount, and using the breaker bar from below. I didn't have much room to use it from above.
then once I loosened it I got off the ramps and set the jack on the engine and undid all screws.

If i dont have any ramps what else can i use, i have the a jack and jack stands,
So i put the jack under the transmission, jack it up, then try to unbolt all of the bolts?
Should that make it any easier?
I thought this was suppose to be a 5 min. job? LOL anyways i will try it.

You can do it without ramps, it's just easier to get more leverage when trying to break the bolts. Just make sure your jacks are secure.

on the bolt on the side of the stock mount, to get it off do i pull the wrench towards the front of the car, or do i push towards the windshield?

so that will be towards me? LOL
So put the jack under the transmission, support it, then get to work on loosening up the bolts then get a breaker bar to pop out the screw or the actual mount itself?
When i put the jack under the transmission, i should place it towards the front of the transmisson or the rear?

The front of the transmission because that's the part that needs support. Your breaker bar is to help you get the actual bolts loose. It gives you more leverage because they're tight. Once you get the bolts out, you should be able to just pull the mount out and swap the new one.

Damn you are the man!!! The top two little 15mm bolts i had no problem with taking out. I couldnt get to the bottom third one because the round part of the mount was in the way. I will try this later, thanks alot, for your help. one more time just to make sure i got things right.
1. Jack up the front of the transmission
2. Lossen the bottom two bolts under the mount
3. Loosen the rest of the bolts starting with the top 2 15mm bolts and then go to the side 17mm bolt
4. Get the mount out of the way then unbolt the third bottom mount
5. Then swap them out.
Correct?

i never suppored my engine and it was fine. Remove the one plastic guard to acess the bolt easier, might want to use wd40 or liquid wrench, i think it is a 17mm nut. use a 1/2" breaker bar to loosen the nut going throug the bushing, then remove the two 17mm nuts underneath. the awr has 19mm nuts for two that come through the frame.

You got it.(yippy)

Edit: You don't have to support your engine, but it's always wise to throw some jacks under there. I mean why not if you have them. Better safe than sorry.

Correct?

there should only be a total of 3 nuts being removed. I thought they were 17mm but i might be wrong. undo the one going through the bushing first so it is easier, then do the two in the frame. I have put this thing on and off a bunch of times(didnt want dealer to see it).
