Front Mask

Do they salt your roads as well? Here we get sand and salt. My worry is the salt could disolve on a warmer day in melting snow, get trapped under the mask and when it dries, the salt will crystalize, becoming abrasive.

Maybe i should just do it and stop over thinking. My MS3 is the most valuable thing i own at the moment, and my pride and joy (im single, no kids and dont own a house :) ...though it might trump all of those things anyway).

I want to make sure i protect it, but $$ is a factor at the moment

I'm telling you the mask is very tight around the car. Unless you physically went and lifted the mask and poured sand/salt under there and then rubbed all over the mask and forcefully tried to cause damage you aren't going to see any negative effects.

Like I said proper maintenance and care and you'll have no issue. And to answer your original question they salt and sand like crazy.

does water get under it though?

he's saying dissolved salt could get under there and then crystallize when the water evaporates...

it will be fine. I used the hood only portion on three of my previous cars. one black, one Dark green the other white. zero issues. I'm looking for the hood only portion for my MS3. typically around $35 but just isn't one out for the MS3 that I've seen.

I left mine on 24x7 and only took it off to clean the car and the bra. again, zero issues.

it will get dirt under it, but I never had any abrasive issues. once they are in place, they don't move back and forth or anything. the car will flex, but the bra will move with it just the same. just keep a good coat of wax on the front and it will not have problems.

Couple more shots of the MS mask, It's not as 89 camero as I thought it would be, fits really good.

man that fits way better than the one I bought for my 6. Very smooth.

PS I took my 6's front mask off only a month after i bought it because of the concern people were talking about.

Those are some nice rims. Also I like the railyard setting! I took a few of mine near a railyard too. Makes for an excellent background.

Anyhow have you ever found any debris under when when removing it?

-Pete

No debris as of yet, but they dont salt or sand our roads here either. I work in the railyard but never really thought of snapping pics there, kinda was waisting time waiting on a train and started playing around with the camera. Glad ya like the rims, tryin to decide if red lugnuts would be overkill.

I was given a front mask as a gift for Christmas for my MS3, however when looking at the box it is labeled as a Front Mask, 4dr S Model Mazda 3 (OEM). It does not have MAzdaspeed logo on the front, rather it has just Mazda (Part Number 0000-8G-L07). Anyone know if this fits??

The mask you have will not fit. The hood and front bumper are different for the Mazdaspeed compared to the non-Mazdaspeed. Do not even waste your time trying to fit it.

Who ever bought it for you didn't know the difference so take it back and ask for the Mazdaspeed3 model (which says 'Mazdaspeed' below the drivers side headlight).
