front grille instillation?

whattsup. i would like to put a grille on the front end of my miata.. where that huge hole is.. but there are two hook things on each side that look like they would get in the way. does anyone know how i would go about getting around the hooks or removing them? pics would be awesome

Run a search for 'remove tie down hooks' at the miata.net forums. It's a popular thing to do over there.

One of the sponsors on the Miata.net sells grills that you don't need to remove the tie-down hooks for. I can't remember which one it is, but they do exist. Just in case you didn't want to take them off.
Most people over on that board say it takes 15 minutes to do. Depending on the age of your car, and when you start timing yourself, allow an hour. It's fairly easy, but the bolts are hard to reach. And wear some gloves, too. (thumb)
