Front end noise, warn tire

Hey guys, the front end of my car has gotten alot louder in the last couple weeks, almost like a warped roter would sound but constantly, even withouth breaking (not quite as loud tho) I noticed the outside portion of my right front tire has wore significantly while the rest of that tire is fine with pretty good tread left and my left front tire has no uneven wearing inner or out. Any ideads what might be causing that? I thought alignment, which it still might need, but the loud noise?

Thanks for any help

What kind of noise are you talking about?

If it is just road noise then, yea it would probly be your alignment. If maybe you curb checked or somthing and just through that one wheel out of place.

If you are haveing shaking or a popping noise the first place I would check it the axel U joints. If the seal break and dirt gets into the joint it cam make an awful noise (usually louder when turning). That doesnt explain the tire wear though.

My guess is it is the alignment. Go to a local tire shop they should be able to tell you pretty quick

Right. The other issue im concnered about is with that tire being worn like that on the outside, I've read the tires on awd cars need to be about the same treadwear or it can ruin the transfer case? All the other tires have pretty good tread left im just not sure if putting just 1 brand new tire on will hurt it?

Correct. You need to keep the tread wear even as possible for AWD cars or it is hard on the drive system. Get your alignment checked first. You should probably plan on 4 new tires too.

It depends on the tread wear. The Speed 6 is common to see more wear on e outside shoulder on both front tires due to the limited slip. But if you rotate tires often it keeps it all even and happy. If it's just one of the fro tires take it somewhere that does good work, and have them thoroughly Check l the components. It could be anything from tie-rods, ball points, or a bushing that has just rotted out.

Going to be taking my car in tonight or tomorrow...checked my tires again and noticed that my left front inner tire is wearing significantly now also. The inner part is quite a bit less tread then rest of the tire, seems like this is what could be making the road noise? what you think? Inner part of front left outter part of front right tire...seems like alignment issue?

Shop says it is alignment thats off. Need new tires, which i already knew but they don't have any 215's in stock said I could probably go with 225's? Would that work or be a problem?

225's will work with stock wheels and stock-height suspension.

Yeah they will and make sure you step down a size on the profile. You can also step up to a 235 and just clear.

A good rule of thumb for this is for every 10 millimeters wider you want to go 5% smaller on the profile. for example 215/55/R18 on size bigger would be 225/50/R18, and 2 sizes bigger would be 235/45/R18. If that makes sense to you all. If not keep reading.

215/55/R18

The first Number is the width of the tire in millimeters, the second id the profile. It'a percentage of the width from shoulder to bead. Third the R stands for Radial, and the number is the rim diameter.

Cool, thanks for the help guys. I ended up just getting some eagle f1s shipped in because i didnt need the car that day anyways. Seem to like them so far. And can't believe how much road noise i was gettin even at slow speeds with the worn tires like that. So much better now.

in the past month, i have had 2 front driver side blowouts on two different brand-brand new tires, and a brand new rim the 2nd time. and the 2nd time i had an new alignment. could this be shocks? or one of the items you guys spoke of? car is sacrificing tires and rims for the suspension i'm guessing, i just want to know the cause. PSI on tires is stock recomendation.
