you probably wont be able to see the red when driving, but meh, i kno its there so im happy.. haha

Thats sweet man, how'd ya do it? Paint it red first then black and then sand the edge a tiny bit so the red came through?

Looks good and unique!

haha good guess!

4 coats of red, 1 coat of black, sand the edges so just the red shows, and some clear coat finisher.

haha gonna have to be repainted every once a while but whatever...

i first tried painting it black and then taping it off, yeah.. dont try it. ha

but thanks man

awesome job again, Still trying to decide if a blacked out emblem would look good on the cosmic blue.

thanks man, and u might as well try it, spray paints cheap and easy. haha... black looks good on anything

Nice job, I really like that.

I've had a similar though about doing a red accent to the emblem area, except for painting it on the actual emblem, I've been thinking of painting the emblem black and then painting red, the lip of black that's part of the plastic piece that the emblem attaches to that is visible around the edges of the emblem. If that didn't make sense, on the 6, the area I'm talking about is painted body color.

That's a really cool idea. Great job on it. :) Really makes it stand out.

All of mine are currently blue, but might change to black down the road. I like em though.

That does look really sweet, how long did it take you do to? Probably cant see it while driving but compared to your sig pic (which is sweet by the way haha) it will take a lot of focus off the front of your car and up close the red accents look great.

thanks man, and the only long part was waiting for the coats to dry, just 400 grit sandpaper on the stock emblem, coat of red, sand again, then 3 more coats of red... dont necessarily have to wait for them to try fully, then one good coat of black, sand the edges, and clear coat it...

took me a whole night, because 1. i was really into the movie i was watching, and 2. i wanted it to dry completely just to be safe...

standing still you can see it great, but im sure when moving u wont be able to see it, unless someones looking in the rear view cause it does stick out more than i thought it would

Damn your car is hott! lol. You would be surprised how much stuff sticks out when looking at it in rear view. I saw the reflection of mine for the first time since I painted the grill, mmmm mmm good! :D

Looks killer! Good job on something original.

I would like to see it with some red trim around the lower "mouth" area ala GTI that Ive seen a few guys do.
