Front driver door and window all messed up. Help me figure out what parts I need?

I've got a 2003 that I dearly love. My baby needs some help. About 6-8 months ago I noticed my remote unlocking button stopped working to unlock just the front driver's side door, but would still unlock the other doors if pressed twice, as normal. There is a weird grinding noise coming from the door panel when using the button or the key to unlock that door, but not to pull up or down the lock manually. That same day, the very next time I tried to open the door, the handle broke off in my hand! grr, I didn't know I was She-Hulk. My boyfriend got me a replacement door handle, but it has yet to be replaced. He thought he would have to take the entire door panel off. I thought not, but didn't really do any research. Who is right about that?

So, none of this would be much of an issue except for what happened this morning: I went to roll up my window after opening the door from the outside handle, and the window would not roll up. >:[ It made a scratchy, grinding noise that is kinda similar to the lock grinding noise, but more scary sounding. I'm not sure if the two problems are connected (other than one broken system being the cause of extra wear and tear on the other system).

I don't think it is a fuse problem given the noises I'm hearing. In doing some research, it seems like the window issue might be related to the regulator or the motor, not such which. I've no idea about the locking system.

If you know, please please tell me what specific parts (and/or special tools) I'd need to get to fix these issues. Thank you!

With the lock there's a little gear in the motor that will break, thus the button doesn't work (or any method of using power) and it creates a nice grinding noise. Any door that makes the grinding needs the gear. If the door doesn't grind but still doesn't unlock you most likely just need the little motor. Both parts can be found on ebay. Or you can replace the entire actuator with the motor and gear
