From LX to MSP- my build.

I have my old motor still fully assembled (ran perfect but burned about 1/2-1qt every oil change) minus vc and timing cover if youre desperate enough to want to pay shipping. I can pull the head off if you just want the bottom end for say $300+shipping which may not be so bad.

i have a motor here, but i have standard sized pistons.. the motor i have had a spun bearing. dino said i'd have to get it machined, then buy new pistons.. soo to eliminate that, i'll need a new motor.. or new pistons.. at that price it looks like oversize is better.. god damn.

i'm trying. haha. i'm sending out the coilovers this week as soon as i hear from k sport. race valving to be done. and hopefully putting the suspension together.. i'll be moving soon. i'm excited.

and btw, i got my turbo integrals. woot.

What kinda word are you looking for on the charger? I haven't had much time to do too much to the protege lately.I've been moving residences and hopefully shops too.ill prolly do most of my fab work during the winter time if I'm lucky.along with rewiring the entire car .I'm really excited to be stepping my game up and learning all these things or elaborating on what I already know.it'll be good exposure for my company

That's right. lol we talked about this before. haha. Not much more for
Me. Got a 6.7" crank pulley (vs a 5.5") 440c injectors and I'm be refitting the piping to accommodate an intercooler.

Now that winter is comming around I'll be watching your thread!

Hopefully more people start watching the thead this winter.I'm tryingto spend most of my time on the car and prepping it for next summer! That's my goal. Exile motorsports(my company) and speedcircuit are gonna be putting in a lot for this car!

the par 1-4 straight cut came in the mail. idk if i posted that. but it's SEXY!!

I read the most recent 4 pages, but this caught my eye. How come no photos with the sexyiest part of the build? Hardly anyone has them. Super pimp would be to wear them as a Mr-T. necklace while the car is being built lol. ***** the hell out those photos and especially videos if you have them.

I couldn't find what your power goals are and if you have any set overall intentions with the car. You seem super excited with it. I'm sure you have been thru its paces before, I hope it stays with you. I get phizzled easily with mine, just dont want to see that with yours.

Also wondering about your oiling system, fuel system, and all that goodness... I love details, please for my sake, dont hold back ha ha!

Well, with this build i wasn't really going for initial power goals.. just more of an instant power. when i press the gas, i wanna go, no lag. I spoke a lot with a few guys on other forums, Brian MP5t, SupermattyP(womp).. and came up with my current ideas.

I'm going with a stand alone ems-Haltech sp1000 i believe, which utilizes corvette spark(true coil on plug), and some adapters which help the spark stay there.

I'm about to send my oil pump to doc b for the oil pump service with external PRV. I have the relocate kit with an oil cooler. And i'll be purchasing the awr oil pan.

Fueling, i'm not so sure about. definitely bigger injectors, i have a walbro 255lph, and will be getting some kind of FPR, because i dont think the stock one can handle it.

I dont have any pictures of the transmission..well because i haven't really built the trans yet. they're just sitting in a box. haha. i need to get the m factory lsd, and different bearings and the cup.

I'm super excited for this build, it's been a LONG time in the making. I'm hoping to get it done by this coming summer. There's going to be a lot of money that needs shelled out for this. So when taxes come back, you know what's going to happen!

I'm also waiting on leen to see about an intake/exhaust manifold from him.

Go with an aftermarket MSD coil instead of the LS1 coils. You'll be getting more "spark" for your money. The stock FPR is great, I wouldn't change it. Very linear response, and I've used mine without fail up to 32psi of boost. Remove the FPR solenoid and run a vacuum line right from the manifold to the FPR.

between you and brian, you have different ideas. he likes the ls1 coils. you dont. hmm. or well you may not dislike them, but choose otherwise.

so just a little update.. i plan on going full out when tax money comes back. i have a LOT of parts just hanging around. i can't wait to be in this car again! hopefully business will be booming by then!

welp, i'm getting a decent refun. i'm going to bank some, and spend some. i'm looking to spend about 2k or so on the protege. try and get this thing pumpin again!

So if you happen to see a wrecked speed 6, grab the brakes, and sell them to me!
