yeah. i'll be at jds tonight. i'm putting the passengers side on tonight.
 
got all 4 spindles on. all i need to do is my ebrake cables, and get the new lateral links. woot...oh and wheels.
 
It may be a dumb question but what is the benefit of a 5 lug besides disk brakes all around. Is it not possible to have 4 lug with disk brakes? I've just been pondering. Nothing better to do at work today.

it's possible. hard to source the brackets and the rotors.
 
Besides that fact that there are no performance front rotors for the 4 lug, and most of the nice wheels are 5 lug, the rear discs are bigger on the five lug than the 4 lug IIRC.
 
Why did Mazda even put on 4 lugs than when they also have 5 lugs for the same year? Is it cheaper ? are they trying to get rid of old stuff?
 
Probably to convince people to buy the ES/P5. Same thing with putting a gauge cluster w/o tach in a manual DX :(

HAHA true but I would like to see a car salesman make that sells pitch. Most average people that think a car is just a way to get from point a to point b would be like so what.
 
aha. well guys/gals..the 5 lug swap is complete. i'm going with a buddy tonight prolly to take some pictures. i'll post them asap. the car rides nice. but after doing this, my cars' hood, also decided that it didn't wanna shut anymore..something else i gotta **** with.
woot.
 
BAD news...

this morning about 1:30 while filming a video for my friends' college course, on street racing. i blew third gear. that's all i know so far.spoke to dino already regarding this, and i'm looking to get GTX 3rd and chryo 4th...maybe 2nd..dunno yet. looking at about 1k total.. or that ballpark..

on the other hand. i went up to eisenhower dr. friday night and messed with a couple of cars..some of the victims(i had no losses), included

04-05 STI
SRT 4
Mustang GT
Jetta GLi on 22psi. woot.

so the car is running like a champ.

the problem i thought i had before w/ fuel cut, wasn't in fact fuel cut, i had somehow NGK Bk5E spark plugs in it, and was blowing out the spark...woot.

so i installed some NGk 11s and it's beast now. now to get dynoed.

there's tons of work coming up soon, includeing stage 1 ported head, custom cams, and custom cam gears. i'm very excited about this. i'll keep you all informed.

and i'll get some new pictures in the near future
 
Just run BKR7E's man. The 5RE's are WAY too hot. The -11 is just a tighter gap (which you can set yourself anyway.) I have my straigh 7E's at .032" no probs...
 
I should calrify, YOU dojn't need to order it from Japan, your dealer can but it will take like a month.
 
Go custom. Even treated GTX are failing on us too after a few powerful runs. Is it really worth it to spend more on something that has a good potential to fail?

Not in my mind. We're going custom for the couple hundred more so we can concentrate on plain ole racing.
