OK.....I'll try to keep this as short as possible for those who haven't read the last post. I have a Mazda B3000 that is only 19 months old. The brakes went bad 6 months after owning it. (under warranty of course) Then is stopped shifting at all about 2 weeks ago. It wouldn't go into gear and then if it was in gear wouldn't come out. ANYWAY (boom07)
I called the dealership I got it from and asked for the service dept. The girl who answered took all my info and then told me my truck was not under warranty!! We argued about it but she said anything having to do with the clutch was not covered. I also spoke with the service manager the next day and he told me the same thing...he asked if I wanted to make an apt. and I said no because I couldn't get it there anyway. He said "OK then."
Well, finally I called a different dealership and the service manager there said it sounded like the slave cylindar and THAT was covered. He offered to send out rodeside assistance and pick up the truck for free. They have now had it since LAST Thursday. I had to RENT a car in the mean time until they figured out what was wrong. (It was a bad slave cylindar) They figured that out on Mon. so then they loaned me a car Tues. Then they tell me that since the transmision was already out I may as well get the clutch done for $430 + the overnight ship fee for the parts I'd have to pay. Fine...$450 done.
They called yesterday and said the truck was ready so I left work early (The dealership is 30 miles from my house and a good 60 from my work) I get there and they have charged me $530!! The extra $80 was "taxes and shop fees" He goes to get my truck and it's NOT FIXED!! Now they are saying they won't have it done until Tuesday!! They told me I was lucky 'cause normally Mazda only allowes for 2 days for a loaner car and that NO other dealership offers that. I told him that maybe no other manufacturer has a car break down with in 2 years of purchase!!!
So now I've paid $85 for the rental (They won't cover it because Mazda ONLY pays for 2 days regardless of the problem or that it is under warranty!) plus $530 for the clutch and lost 2+ days of work for a NEW truck that is still under warranty and the dealer ship is like......Sorry, company policy!!
I guess this is more of a vent but does anyone know what I can do to get at least some of my money back.
I'm calling the Mazda Customer Service dept in the morning and the BBB but what else?
