Freshly detailed MSP! + mini review

OP seems ok but I may be using too much cause my pad is a soggy mess lol.
I just ordered some Menzerna IP and FPII to try out. Also got some of their Finishing touch glaze. Also going to try out Poliseal and see if I like that as well.

Yeah sounds like too much. You only need very little of any of their products. I am sure you will like Menz stuff. They are harder to work with as I think I mentioned. They dust freaking crazy. And they are best used with a rotary. But they are nice products. If you are still trying to work out the small scratches and minor issues you will love the poliseal. Same with OP you only need a very little.

I notice you are starting to gather a lot of products. be careful or the bug will bite and you won't be able to stop! lol

Also, are you testing these products on your car? You have some pretty strong products and if you try them all you may be removing more paint than you want to. I would suggest getting a scrap piece to work with before trying all of your new stuff out on your car. Mazda paint is kinda soft.

Detailing bug already hit man. Its too late. I can't stop. Already trying to plan what to get next. I think I'm set with all the compounds and polishes. FPII, IP, XMT 3,4 should cover all the bases.

I have a friend that lets me detail his cars. Mostly beaters that I can practice on. I already burnt some paint trying to get some deep scratches out.

Well, time to go shopping for new paste wax or something. CG5050, Swissvax onyx? Soveran SSII is on sale too AHHHHHHHHHHhhh

Man I had a long drawn out thing on my favs for paste and my system took a dump.

I feel your pain. Its hard to stop.

I love Carnaubas. I will take the extra work and less durability over a syn. anyday. They look so much better. So to cliff note my 1st attempt...

I love souv. its awesome all around. love p21s/s100. it works great and has a nice price. swissvax is ok. its too pricey for what you get. onyx is no better to me than p21s IMHO. concourso is a nice product but for the price of souv why buy it. love zymol carbon on everything! costs less than souv and i think it is better. like zymol creme on light colors, but p21s looks just as nice on lights and i get get s100 cheaper and local so i have not restocked creme. i have had the chance to use vintage and i love it!! when business takes off i will be stocking this product. no doubt my favorite carnauba to date. i like some of the cheaper guys too. i like collinite's line of stuff. insulator rocks on wheels. Natty's blue is nice for the price but it doesn't hold up well in hot weather.

i can't knock the synthetics tho. there are some really nice products out there. i got some opti-seal from my distributor and it does awesome over the carnaubas i have tried so far. so with the look of a carnauba and opti-seal over it is a better option than a syn.

You own a detailing biz or something?
Have you tried Swissvax Samurai or Zymol Japon? I've heard zymol works best with HD clean so thats why I havent looked into zymol.

I have a full bottle of AJT so I've been hesitant to get Opti-seal.

Yes I do. I guess I thought I mentioned that but maybe not.(shrug)

As for Samurai and Japon...no...and there is no need to. They both claim to be for Japanese paints. Just marketing. You don't need either of them. Carbon, souv or whatever you want will work just fine. But I am sure both of those waxes will be just fine too. Its just not needed.
HD cleanse is not needed. Proper prep is all that is needed. You don't have to have theirs. Look at just about every company. They all will tell you that you need to use their full line in order to get best results. Megs is one of them that does that a lot.

Opti-seal is nothing like AJT. Opti is so easy and quick to use. I don't know how well it holds up yet though. I know it looks great. Its kind of an interesting product. AJT is a great sealant. But then you can put Opti over it for more protection and a better look. Waiting to see how Opti performs over the long run. I really just like it because it goes over carnaubas well without messing with the looks.

Man, i'm going to have more layers than a 7layer burrito with all the products I want lol. Wonder if you can layer AJT then opti then ajt then opti..etc. My liq. souveran and glaze has to go somewhere in there too lol. I need to find a system and stick to it. But then again half the fun is trying new stuff.

You order the 323 badge at a dealership I THINK. I got mine from tawain hongkong or something. I forget the name of the site. They sell a bunch of chinese domestic market and asian domestic market stuff. It comes in chrome. I painted mine silver.

2.0T badge can be had at any Audi dealership.

yeah its fun to try stuff. i have scrap panels that I try out different stuff on. different layers and brands etc.

I just tried IP on a silver 85 corolla gts. I used a green edge pad, It didn't do much for the swirls but did leave a smoother finish.

I think i'll use the Menzerna stuff for newer cars and hopefully it will give better results.

Thrill have you tried Swissvax Concourso? Found out that detailersdomain has a few selection of swissvax. Or would carbon be a cheaper better choice even on lighter colored cars.

yes concorso is nice. but i just think there are better options for the money. if you want a wax for just light colors zymol creme is really nice. but like i said p21s is great too. it may not last quite as long but you can top it with AJT and it will be just fine. carbon is great to me for everything. cheaper than souv with same results. suposedly for darker colors but i like it on everything.
concourso claims to have 51% carnauba which should have better lasting time. if you want something that is equal to it you can get zymol concours which is i think 47% and swissvax got the idea for concorso from zymol concours. and the zymol is cheaper. zymol has some others that have that high of carnauba content also. titanium and glasur - made for porches which i find kinda funny. just remember the higher the carnauba content the harder they are to work with. better results for sure though. just a trade off. that why I like p21s with opti-seal over it. easy and awesome. and easy on the pocket book...unlike $200 concorso.

So the more carnuba the better results? I'm looking for that glossy look (as much as I can get out of silver at least). You think carbon or titanium would do it? petes 53 seems to have a lot of nuba by volume as well. any experience with that?

Hey this is with Japon:

Can carbon do the same?

kind of a lowlight shot but still looks nice. yes carbon can do the same. carbon looks great on red.
I have no experience with Pete's. I do know its on sale for pretty cheap right now. The higher content of carnauba the longer it "should" hold up. Checmical Guys uses polymers in their Carnaubas which seems like it would also last longer. Don't know how it affects the looks tho. Polymer based waxes do not look as deep and wet as a good carnauba.. But Pete's has 50% carnauba so it might be worth a shot...especially at the sale price right now. Cool story behind '53 also.

Well I just made a big order to chemicalguys. Getting the petes '53. Now I just need to find a place that sells some carbon.

woohooo i'm a carnuba addict!

lol, so am I! Love the stuff.

No I have not used the PC for carbon. It would be easy though I'm sure. I like to work it by hand. Just a preference.

Carbon will cost about 45 bucks pretty much everywhere. Probably would be hard to find it cheaper. Let me know how you like Pete's.

Well, I just ordered the Carbon...so I'll try to do a side by side comparasion of the two waxes.

Right now I'm debating about trading the car for a ......red S2000 lol. Red looks sweet when mantained but man does it fade and oxidize fast. Not sure if its worth it.
