My friend? yea he digs. but mostly it's his car, he got a god deal on it from a friend who left for iraq for a year int he military and didn't wanna pay to store it, etc. It's very fast in the classical sense. Power like an american car. thatsaid, it's handling isn't anything spectacular. I've driving it at 10/10ths befor ewhen it belonged to the previous friend and now after soime modding. I guess I'm spoiled by the allaround balance of proteges, but itjust feels kinda clunky and awkward. He's got headers, catback, intake, chip and lowered on eibachs, and I can still take him in the twisties. with a simple drop on msp wheels.

I want to say Kain has a 2004 red Spec-V. He likes it, he'd gotten a LX, DX? when the MSP first came out and they were charging way too much and then traded it in. He's done a lot of work to it now, catless exhaust, AFC, suspension and looking for new wheels right now. I'm just not a big fan of that solid rear axle. We swapped rides once last summer and took a spin in each other's cars and he liked the P5 then and I liked it better than the Spec V then. Haven't driven it since though and it was almost stock then.

Yeah, I have an '04 Spec V. Katie's right, out of the box the Protege handles better (I used to own an '03 Protege LX). The solid rear axle can be limiting at times. Mine's heavily modded now, though, and plenty of people have been impressed with how it drives in its current state. Now I just need to fix the driver...
