Yeah, it was on there at some point. Lots of people on Craigslist with no money, and who want me to send tons of pictures to them, PITA.

could it be running lean because of the tune? id be way more likely to be buying this if you got rid of the running rich problem. but as of now i am going to be looking at an MSP next weekend. if you can take care of it by next weekend ill come see yours too before making a decision.

this car has a split second on it.. so the tune can be altered quite easily on it.. honestly.. this is the one to look at if you are buying outright!

First of all, it runs lean at idle and ONLY idle, the second the RPM's rise above ~900, it's perfect. It does not run rich...so not sure where you got that from. I don't know why the idle is lean, and don't really care either because it's not lean enough to hurt anything, especially considering it's only at idle.

I'm not going to have it fixed by next week, lmao, because the lean idle does nothing wrong to the car. If it was something I could pin-point and fix in two days, it'd be done by now. The bottom line is, since I had the car I've got a Lean code twice. I think two codes in two years is pretty good....

Venting:
This is getting so irritating, honestly. Everybody wants a "built motor", but aren't willing to pay $6000 for a built motor MSP, with LESS THAN 50K on the build, just because it has a lean idle that affects nothing... I could have just been grimey, and taken out the Wideband & claim perfect AFR @ idle. Too bad I'm nicer than that...

Either way, good luck brother, I hope you get what you want.

Thanks. I never thought that I'd take such a huge loss on this car. Can't even get an offer on it. Sad stuff.

i have been following this thread for some time now. Some people need to do some homework. Running lean at idle is NOT AN ISSUE.......END OF STORY. There is no load on the engine at all. Running lean while under load will cause predetonation i.e spark knock, but if the AFR are good under load you should be ok. Running too lean at idle will just cause the car to die. He is stating that the car idles fine, just showing up lean on the WB, which could simply be the fact that the WB is reading alot of air because of the low rpms. I have had many modified cars and all of mine idled in the 15-16 afr or even slightly higher, without any effect on......well anything.

HondaEat-R, if I didn't have an MSP already, and I wasn't deploying in a few days, I will fly up and grab this thing. 6k on a built MSP is a f-ing steal. Good luck bro

Dang man, I can not believe its still for sale. Shoot when I bought my Broken MSP, guy was firm and I picked it up no question for a great price. This MSP has a lot of great parts including the rebuilt trans. A lot of great parts invested into this. GL with the sale. Someone need to pick this up. You have one clean MSP for a great price!

Oh hey i dont think i read it but what # is your MSP?

Right on, thanks.

If the idle was SUPER lean, like an AFR of 20:1, then it could become problematic if you idled for extended periods over the course of years (burnt exhaust valves), but I doubt the car would even run with such a AFR.

I see 15.8-16.5 AFR @ idle consistently. I've said this before but: With the colder plugs I run, a lean idle will do nothing but good, in the sense that it will help prevent plug fouling from extended idling. The car has never stalled while idling, and the idle RPM's are ~700.

I can't stress enough how a lean @ idle only condition is fine, yet it freaks people out. I'm willing to bet that many people have this issue, yet don't see it because they lack a Wideband staring them in the face. My off-idle AFR's are PERFECT, both in vacuum AND in boost. The SS-AFC CAN tune around this lean spot @ idle, but the ECU will learn around the changes you make quickly because the car is in "closed loop".

I need to sell this car so I can put myself back in school, and I'm slowly becoming less and less interested in loud ticket-seeking cars, and just need something slow, cheap and reliable. At this point, I'm just paying off my loan w/ my asking price, so I can't really move on the price too much, but think my asking price is beyond "fair".

Thank you !

I'm not sure what # MSP it is, as I never really cared to look.

I was considering driving one back from Chicago so it's not that much further. And my dad has a friend in Albany, i'm going to talk with him and see if it's possible. I would have to come check the car out, no sight unseen buying for me.

Let me know, as I'd gladly meet with someone, as long as it's not some seedy Motel, lmao.
