I'm having an issue with the rod length. Even when the Forge is as short as it can go it is still longer than the stock one. Anyone have any ideas on why. Is it the wrong actuator for the MSP? Has anybody installed one of these with problems. . . no problems? (help)

Post pics of what u have. I have the forge and mine fit fine. I have mine almost as short as it will go...im trying to push 9psi. Car is currently down, so I have no idea if it works or not

I have a Forge and I set it to the stock length. Did you buy it new or used? The part number on the box for the MSP is FMACMSP.

i have a forge and it fit just fine no problems at all i also upgraded the spring something you should look into if you go forged, well worth it.

Did the box have the right part number? I don't recommend the JoeP FCD, they are just a bandaid for proper tuning. And honestly MBC's aren't good either but if you're forged you don't have to worry as much.

Yeah it had the right #. This is my commuter car, (the mustang makes 440 rwhp) so I'm really trying to stay on my budget (which I'm way over). So spending $400 bucks on an AFC and another $400 bucks on a dyno tune is way too much. I was looking at the Turbosmart FCD because it has voltage clamp and release and it is adjustable. I have a wide band meter and i was jus gonna tune out the pig rich condition MSP's a renowned for with a MBC but at 9psi (in a good day) is where the cut hits so enter FCD

It was like $450 flat rate to tune the Mustang at my tuner.

Anyway, did the guys with the Forge WGA use those instructions I posted above to do there install? Has anyone even seen that sheet? I got it off the Forge website.

MSPs cant be tuned like Mustangs can. The SSAFC you have to tune yourself so there isn't the added $400. You won't need an FCD if you get the AFC, and you can get one for about $350. Raising the boost does not lean the car out, at least not enough. I have been playing with my EBC for a few months now and no matter what boost it runs (I have had it spike up to 11psi) it still runs rich.

I didn't read a How-to when I installed mine. I just removed the stocker, set the rod to the same length and put the Forge in.

My MSP is my Daily as well. What kind of Mustang do you have?

I want an AFC the whole thing is money. The build is way over budget (like I said earlier) so #1 priority is getting the thing running. At some point I'll probably get it (you talked me out of the FCD). I think either way I'm going to do a gated MBC because I don't want any creep like you said you experienced I'll just have to spend more time getting the boost where I want it. I've been researching all about the MSP tuning issues and the car even had a unichip before I bought it (which SUCKS don't buy, there is no fuel control).

Anyways, I have a '98 GT W/ a Kenne Bell S/C on a built aluminum 4.6 stroked to 5.0. Too many extras to list

That sounds like a very nice GT, I had a 94 cobra for a few years and sold it in 08 for an 09 Highland green Bullitt. Just a few bolt ons, 1 pc. driveshaft, MGW shifter, headers, LCAs, etc. and it needs tires to get into the 12s but it's almost there. Wanted a blower really bad when I bought it but since I've decided on a new 5.0 instead.

The AFCs are awesome pieces, I rode in a mostly stock MSP with the AFC and a midpipe/high flow cat and it would have blown the doors of of mine with an FMIC and a couple other small bolt ons.

I had to cut it down to make it the right length, when I did make it the same as stock is was boosting too much, had to adjust it. But I called Forge and they were out of the MSP wastegate, and sent a "Modded" dodge srt4 caliber wastegate, but they forgot to send it with the sorter turnbuckle. So if you make it as short and stock, just ck the boost when your done, might have to adjust it.

Nice, I wanted a 347 with AFR heads and ported stock intake in my 94 Cobra before I sold it. I loved that 5.0, ran strong even with 160k miles.

Yeah my Forge rod was too long to match the old WGA but the instructions say all it needs to be is 3mm short of the WG "spigot" witch is what I did. we'll see what happens.

heres the engine on my mustang.

hm... when i ordered mine through crossover it didnt come with any instructions and I adjusted mine on the fly to where it wasn't to loose to hear the internal wastegate flap jiggle.
