shims? you mean the one's you add. i run no shims and it still pings like crazy. still cant settle on love it or hate it.

interesting reads. however i would never consider putting anything inside the valve.
does the body of the valve itself have anything to do with the ping noise?
how bout the top that screws on?
i have a feeling that maybe, its the piston "closing" that makes the ping, not opening.
