thats loud! is that VTA?

that is the BPV in recirc.
the forge BPV can NOT be run VTA, it will run like s***.
PG does sell a forge VTA valve that i personally tested for the forge guys.
the car ran 100% perfect with it. no pops, sputters, or backfires.
i did opt to use the recirc style valve though. because deep down i knew that it was better for the car. and to be totally honest the BPV with cai is LOUDER that the VTA valve.

I've tried so hard to let the forge bpv sound "grow me on" but it hasn't, i think it just sounds...weird! lol. I think I would get annoyed with it making that sound every time I let off the gas or shifted. Oh wells.

I'm sure the forge is much better then the stocker but I could never get myself to enjoy the metallic sound it makes. I'd be thinking somthing is wrong with the car heh.

That clip made me order one. My wife already thinks the sound of the CAI is obnoxious. Just wait till she hears this...:)

LOL - It had the opposite effect for me. I had been thinking about upgrading but took one listen and decided not a chance in hell was I going to put up with that clanking.

I still like my Forge BPV. The sound has grown on me. My wife thinks it sounds like the sound of the coins from Super Mario Brothers. To me it reminds me of a hammer hitting an anvil. Personally I think it is a great unit. What sold me on it was the fact it was adjustable with the three different springs and the shims.

forge bpv

quick question. I didnt recieve shims and im using the blue spring. do i need to use shims? it does sound like its working correctly, but how would i know if its not working?

if you dont like the chirp you can put the red spring in and it goes away.
the red is a little stiffer than recommended, but it works. you just have to be carful with low boost venting. if you come off the throttle slowly you will get a little comp. surge. if you fully release the gas it vents fine with no issues. i actually run the red spring now. i am running 19psi, and just thought i could use the added pressure.

My answer is no. I tried the yellow spring with two shims and really could tell a difference then just using the yellow spring with no shims. Most people that have the Forge BPV will say that they blue spring is the best, and I think it is too.

i wanted to get the forge bpv, but after hearing the sound it makes, i just couldn't bring myself to hit the "buy"...the thing sounds like i'm ringin one of those bicycle bells! (bang)

Im gonna dyno one tomorrow night. Before and after to see how much of a difference it makes across the board holding boost better.

Mods will be.

say, driver, when you were running traklites, what kind of tires were you using? how wide? i just got FD wheels (16x8) and i want to see if i can get 245/50/16s into my fenders without rubbing...:D

I was using 2inch spacers to clear the calipers with the 15inch wheel. They were 8.8 wide. Im sure a 245 would fit and rub a bit, but a 235 would probably be the better choice. Depends on what tire too. All tires are different even in the same size. Its stupid how they do that.

ya, i know...i really want to get 235s, but i don't see any 16s in 235...^^;

there's a LOAD of 225/50/16s (in fact, RE-01Rs are only 117 each!), but when you start to depart from that, the pickings get slim...=/
